Ronovan’s Friday Fiction #3 -Mile High Club

So, Friday is coming to a close and it ends with a fiction prompt from Ronovan. Check it out here.

This week, unlike the last 2 weeks, the challenge is a photo, rather than prompt words.  I ended up going a little more light hearted this week.

It was a dream.

It was just a dream.

Damn!

Why did she have to wake up just then?

A few moments earlier, she had been 30, 000 feet in the air, looking out of aircraft windows, gazing out at a beautiful azure blue sky. Below, the Atlantic Ocean stretched out as far as the eyes could see.

Nella looked around her and took in the other passengers. She couldn’t believe she was flying First Class! There were another 9 seats in the area, but only 2 were taken. One was a middle aged man, head lolling to one side. He was fast asleep, the luxury reclining seat stretched fully back, eye mask on to block out the bright sunlight.

The other was a young man. She couldn’t quite see his face, he was wearing sunglasses, but the profile, looked quite pleasant.

She settled back and smiled. Yes, this experience was something else! Just lucky positioning in the queue, she guessed, but when they went to check in, the guy at the check in desk looked at his computer screen, after scanning her ticket details, and said that they were upgrading her! Not the other members of her party, her 3 friends, just her. Strange, but she wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth, and after a quick glance at her group, who were giving her the thumbs up, she happily took this bit of fortune and skipped off to the departure lounge.

Seriously, this was good! At the touch of a button, her seat was a bed, and press it again, and it was a chair again! There was no piddly monitor on the back of the seat in front, more like a personal flatscreen TV, with a wealth of channels, movies and music to flick through. Yup, sure beats cattle class! She reached forward to take a sip of her drink, Champagne, no less. Oh yes, this was the life!

One of the airhostesses came through the curtains, and proceeded to pull down blinds, and dim the lights. It was obviously rest time, and those in First Class couldn’t sleep with the sun, apparently. (Though that theory was already smashed… check out baldy over there, he might even have been drooling now too, gross!) With a quick smile, and an enquiry as to whether the passengers were ok, she left them again, reassuring them she was at their service, if they needed anything, and to just press the button to call her.

Nella went to lay back, and close her eyes, but she felt as if she was being watched. She looked across and saw her companion staring over at her.

That wasn’t just a look… that was ‘The Look’! And now she could see his whole face… he was hot!

But she didn’t even know him. Hadn’t even said hello.

Did people still join the Mile High Club?

“Oh my god, why did I even think that?” she muttered to herself, colouring as she looked away.

Though… chances don’t always come as good as this one…

She turned to give her best alluring smile at the hottie across the aisle.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

The alarm woke Nella with a start. She looked around. Nope, no plane, no champagne, no hottie, it was definitely her old grotty bedroom that she had woken up in.

Stupid alarm……..!
