Ok so a quick question.
What could I use to record a reading, say of my poetry?
Then how could I upload it to WP?
I would love a simple answer. .. as I do to want to do YouTube!

I was going to have said Soundcloud as well as I have seen it recently on a few people’s sites. Being you did that, you mentioned Youtube. That is simple as sharing, as long as you have a page and a way to record or a webcam you merely post the link in the post. I had not tried any audio files personally but knew of SC

I reckon Soundcloud would be your best option. If there’s no video then I don’t see why you want want to use YouTube or other video sites

So I record via a recording app. .. upload to soundcloyd then use the share to WP. Link?
And this can be done with the basic WP. Programme? Or will I need to upgrade?

I think, but would need to check, to see if the Soundcloud app has a direct recoding facility. Once it’s on Soundcloud embed into WP post – no update required.

Soundcloud doesn’t record any more but there are heaps of apps that will record https://blog.soundcloud.com/2015/01/29/new-for-your-ipad-our-redesigned-app/ then simply upload to SC

You can just record it on your phone and upload it. If you want to add an audio file on WP you need to have an upgrade. At least, I needed it for my songs. When you go to that upload page you see which formats are requested. Hope it works. Looking forward to hearing you, Sis!

The ‘Voice Recorder Pro’ App (which is free) is useful for recording and converting to MP3. I then popped my recording on http://www.soundcloud.com (free account) then linked the ‘share’ code on my WordPress. It takes a little setting up. G:)

i think there are a number of screen recorders with audio to record feature like camtasia or else you can record your voice on phone then put that audio and one image in windows video maker then you can upload that file to youtube and share it on WP …

you can record your voice on a smartphone(using a voice recording app) and upload it directly to WP by adding it as a media. If you have a gmail account you can also upload it to the corresponding youtube account and provide a link to it in WP. You have my sincere apologies if the answer was not simple.

Will I have to go via the website to upload then, rather than the WP app? As the app only allows photos and videos… and I can’t do videos as I am not a paying blogger! I don’t want to do YouTube. .. don’t want my face, only my voice!!

you can create and use a soundcloud account for uploading audio files. you can even upload it on to your fb account and provide a link to WP. unfortunately I am a PC based WP user so am completely ignorant about the ways of the WP app in smartphones.
