So, earlier, I posed a question to all of my lovely Blogily, as I wanted to learn how to set up an Audio file that I could then download onto WP, so that when I felt brave, I could read my poetry, or even a post, or fiction, and you could hear me, instead of read me, if you know what I mean!
I am not keen to go down the YouTube route, as I didn’t want my face out there too much!
As usual, all you wonderful folk flock together to answer these questions, and there are always pearls of wisdom within these post comments. For lots of suggestions, click here.
Graeme and Steve both suggested Soundcloud, and I have heard of it before, but had never used it. So off I went to explore…
And it is great! I also downloaded the app to my phone! So, there is an option to record, then you save it and it can be public or private. I used private, but that’s my choice! There is then an option to share, and when you click that, a link comes up. I just copied and pasted that into my post, and there it was!
Magic! I highly recommend it all!
If there is any post you want to hear me read, which ever it may be, jot me a line in the comments, and if I am brave enough, I will do that for you!

I hesitated first… But I think sometimes,mot hear a poem read by the one that wrote it, can bring different light, and understanding to it! It’s a great tool, now I just need to find quiet time to record a few!!!

Siubdcloud is the best I have one yet don’t utilize it.. how silly I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing myself for over a year. I suppose my hesitation comes from not being ready maybe. I don’t know.

Sis, I set up the account and uploaded a song. I even came to the point where I get the WordPress code. But when I paste that code into a post and make a preview I only see the link but not that SoundCloud image to press play. Do you know what I do wrong?

Before I lost my voice, I had uploaded files to my my Audioboom.com account (used to be Audioboo.com) At first I was hesitant to share, now it’s where my last voice recordings are stored. Not professional by any stretch of the imagination. But the Kiddies love to hear them. For newest Grands, it is quite different, they’ve never hear my voice live.

We’re still trying to isolate voice on old recordings and transfer to digital files for future. I recorded Nieces bedtime stories right after they were born, Nurses says it helped keep them calm through all the turmoil of being born Preemies and Mom being in a coma. Still helps even now sometimes. 👀 ♥ * ͜ * ♥ 👀

I held my phone to my mouth as close as I could, and obviously you can repeat and repeat until you get it right… By then you won’t need to read, because you will know it off by heart anyway lol!!!

Ritu, i do use Youtube. It’s free and you can copy and paste it into your blog (my blog, BTW is free too). SoundCloud would probably work as well. If you don’t want to show your face just put a picture of something else with the post in YouTube. I also use iMovie and you can upload it directly onto Youtube.

Soundcloud is a good way of embedding sound without having to go through the youtube aggravation. I do like the WP option, but it costs a bit for the ability to upload sound and video files.
