I am so impressed with myself today!
We have a light socket that broke a few months back. It’s one of the main lights in our bedroom.
I’ve been reading and writing in semi darkness since then… there was a new lamp holder needed. Wires and everything to be reset… it needed an electrician! No way we could sort it out!
Then I found a spare new holder at my in-laws, and my father-in-law was ready to sort it out for us, 2 months back… but he forgot!
I reminded him yesterday and he took apart a light holder at their house to see how simple it was, reassuring me that he could do it.
So I figured if he could do it, so could I!
This evening I switched the leccy off at the mains, grabbed my stepladder and managed to change it, wiring and all, by myself!
Now I have light again!
Seriously, I’m so chuffed with myself! Not one electrocution episode either!
Go me!
Any tasks you have dreaded doing, only to astound yourself later,by doing them?

I don’t think I’d have the patience!!!
Right now we have an issue with a toilet seat. Metal bolt, plastic nut. The screw has rusted and bonded… I need yo change the seat, and can’t even remove the old one!!!! YouTube suggests heating metal tools and melting it off… I’m not to sure!!!
