What a truly positive quote to start this Sunday with.

A small girl who inspired so many…

Even through all her sad experiences, her words truly inspired many all these years after they were written. A diary that she probably never thought anyone else would read. She was able to still see the sunshine through the clouds.

A diary is a wonderful thing to keep. I kept many over the years. And this blog is almost a journal of my last couple of years. But the actual actions of writing, physically, in a diary, now that is a skill I believe we should all pass on to our children.

I was so happy that my own two were so excited by their new desks (lovingly built by yours truly!) that they promptly sat down last night and started scribbling away in their own diaries!

And tonight, they were there again…

It makes me proud to know I have somehow managed to foster the love of the written word within my own children, whether it be their own writing or reading books. Who knows… maybe you’ll be reading one of their books!

I’ll leave you with a question Peeps, and in the meantime, have a wonderous Sunday, chilling, just spare a thought for Ritu, tirelessly sorting through boxes……

    I so agree with you. I have always kept a journal. A real hold in your hands journal and what my mother in law called a ‘common place book’ which contains all manner of random thoughts, brilliant starts to books (she was a writer too), articles, advertisements, words from postcards and other jumbled but momentarily or eternally meaningful things. My daughters all do the same and it is one if the things I am a little proud of that in this digital instant world I have four twenty something young women who understand the vs,use of the tangible over the virtual. I loved this, thank Tinya for pointing me your way and look forward to reading more of your lively blog ☺️

And, I’m inspired by your creativity and hardwork in building those fantastic desks for your children–bravo! Also, passing on your enthusiasm and love of words is the best gift of all.     That is the only way we should look at things in order to be happy and energized for new adventures! Such a good feeling to see your two cuties enjoying their new rooms with their new furniture!

    First off, bravo on your desk building skills! Second, I love keeping diaries. In recent years though I have left off do so and it saddens me. I still have all my diaries that I kept as a kid/teen though, lol! I love that you’ve inspired your kids to do the same. My daughter and I share the same passion of art. She draws so well though that she has actually surpassed my talent. She aspires to be an illustrator when she’s older. We come from a long line of artists, so it’s neat to see the talent continued to be passed down.

    So wonderful that your kids start writing in so early age Ritu 🙂
    I talked with my kids and read books for them, while they were little. Later we visited the library a lot.

    It is wonderful to see that your children share your love of reading and writing.
    When my daughter was a baby, I talked to her constantly, telling her what we were doing, and what was going on around us. I also read to her and bought her loads of books as she was growing up.
    Her schools have always remarked on what a wonderful vocabulary she has, especially for her age. I wanted to pass my love of words onto her and hopefully I have succeeded! 🙂
