Shush!
It’s something I seem to do an awful lot…
Shushing people, but usually little people!
It is a futile task though, really.
If a 3 year old wants to talk, no amount of shushing will make any difference.
Believe me, I try constantly.
It could be that I am introducing a short task, and the others are trying to listen, or we are trying to hear another child giving some news to us.
It may even be me reading a story, and a child not able to contain them selves, shouting out their own commentary throughout.
Or incessant crying for no reason, and no amount of cuddles and words will stop the flow of tears.
(Believe me, I am a patient person, but after an hour of the persistent whine I defy anyone to not say SHUSH!)
But I Smile Anyway...

Oh this is so great! I think you should get extra bonus points because your word began and ended with sh and so did your post!! I particularly loved the part about “shouting out their own commentary”…that made me laugh and I could envision it! 🙂
