It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It’s taken a while, but we are finally with tree!20161209_183837

What with Lil Man’s concussion, and a week of school, and oh so much ‘mum stress’ and worry, the Christmas tree, I’m afraid, took a back seat.

But yesterday evening, I came home to find a different child at home. Previously during the week, he had been really suffering from bad headaches, and was unable to get up, or do anything. Last night, however, he was so happy, helping me with housework, and even doing his homework!

The week was filled with hospital visits as his headache was no better, and he was waking each morning, conscious of missing school, but standing with silent tears falling due to the pain.

There were tears from me too… It is far too hard to see your child in pain, and not being able to do anything about it. We were lucky that Hubby Dearest works from home so he was at home with Lil Man, but it meant that I would come into work, and if anyone showed concern, I was a blubbering mess!

It didn’t help when the Locum Doctor at our surgery refused to acknowledge the concussion diagnosis by TWO hospital Dr’s and dismissed the whole thing as a headache because of the weather! And then he sent Hubby Dearest and Lil Man away saying he didn’t want them to waste anymore of his time! Seriously? This is a child with a diagnosed head injury??? We had been asked to go to our surgery to discuss next steps if the pain worsened. I wanted to hit someone (the doctor!) but I just cried instead!

Still, that is all a stress of the past now, and he seems so much more himself finally!

And Sonu Singh has been getting involved too, as usual!

He loves sitting under the tree and then sneakily trying to climb it! But the best is him getting acquainted with my giant Nutcracker!

And yes, I admit, I attempted some dressing up… but he was not compliant with me this time! See below for the Snowman and Elf attempt… FAIL!

He made himself feel better by sitting in our KFC bag instead!

Sorry to hear about Lil Man, but very pleased to hear he’s feeling a lot better now Ritu. Sounds as if you’ve had a really rotten week. Sonu Singh never fails to bring a smile to my face. I hope he doesn’t try and climb the Christmas tree too much this year.

I’m glad your son is feeling better, Ritu. It’s the worst when they’re sick. Wow, I can’t believe that doctor or whatever he is! Don’t waste his time?? WTH?? I’d be livid if I was told that, especially if it involved my son! Nice tree and decorations! I really like the nutcracker!

So glad Lil man is on the mend, and your tree is up.. My daughter is isn’t well at the moment, she’s had a dreadful time of it recently one thing after another. And today I feel poorly too, which is a bit unfortunate as I have my work Xmas party tonight.. Sigh. Shall have to manage somehow!!!

the cat looks sooooooo undignified all dressed up. I’d climb the tree and knock off all the ornaments in retaliation.

I’m glad your son is picking up, Ritu. I know how that feels all too well! Frankly, I would put in a complaint to the surgery… head injuries should never be taken lightly!

I know you would know exactly how it felt Sue!
We have complained. The Locum and others like him, taint the medical profession and those that took the oath to help…

Sadly, I have a feeling that the medical profession, like teaching, is under siege these days with paperwork and funding shifting the focus of some away from where it should be. The system, not the people who try and work within it, is at fault… but occasionally you do find the odd one who seems to be in the job for entirely the wrong reasons…

That is true actually. But this guy… well he really took the biscuit… and a pot of tea with it! I was disgusted!
Usually we find locums to be almost over cautious as they are treating another drs patient. But it was like he hadn’t got a care in the world. Apparently there were other patient complaints that day too… says it all really!

Makes you wonder what was going through his mind that day, doesn’t it? I’d agree, locums almost always err, if rr it is, on the side of caution.

Glad to her your lad is feeling better. Very anxious time. As for your locum GP? yeah. waste of space some of them. (I saw a locum about my eye problem, and he didn’t even look at me, let alone my eye, saying he’d leave it to the hospital to sort out! So glad I didn’t see him regarding Humphrey!)
