Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 22 – #icandthis

Well, firstly from a healthy living perspective, may I just wish you all a healthy, happy new year!!!

Since I last updated you we have entered a new year, 2017! May it be a great one for us all!

So, I have had a varied week, being back at school.

I have had a few days of being REALLY good, some days of being really naughty… how will it pan out?

I even ate a Nandos, and due to visitors coming, I succumbed to a samosa and pakoda!

The rest of the week…

But sadly, I had to say goodbye to my new FitBit also, after getting another allergic reaction to it… BooHoo! I loved that gadget!

Well, being back at school, in the cold, means a lot of running around. I am avoiding all the excess Christmas chocolates and biscuits that are creeping into the staffroom, donated by all those teachers who were very appreciative of all the chocolate gifts, but couldn’t possibly eat them all! Being in Nursery means I spend very little time there, but on a Tuesday morning, I have planning time, and this week… a packet of biscuits, a multipack of crisps, and Pringles were staring at me… I was really good, and only after sitting near them for 2 hours, did I succumb to one biscuit!20170103_105700

So… how has all this affected my first weigh in of 2017?

Well…

I lost 1lb!

2017-01-06_06-55-07

20.5lb with Slimming World, and since I started, 25.5lb!!! I only need to lose 2.5lb more to hit that goal of mine, losing 2 stone, that I foolishly made at the beginning of August, never thinking it could happen… but it could!

Ooooh!

So, to celebrate, we had a Chinese takeaway, no holds barred, as Hubby Dearest thinks I don’t eat ‘normal’ food anymore lol!

Oh, well, each to their own, eh! At least our household takeaways have really cut down!

Now I am off to worry about the syns I consumed tonight, lol!

Enjoy your week Peeps! Remember, enjoy life, be healthy, be happy!

Loving the food pics Ritu 🙂

Although now I’m sitting here thinking about samosas – which are pretty much my kryptonite! When there were birthdays at work in my last job there was usually a box of around 50-60 along with spring rolls in the rest room to add to the temptation!!!

I havent had one for a looooong time (not since starting Slimming World actually) but maybe I should work one into my syn totals in the coming week somewhere.

After all – what’s life without the things you enjoy (in moderation!)

I love this! Well done Ritu, and it was great looking through all your meals. A pound in a week, with all that lovely food is a terrific result, especially straight after Christmas.

I ate VERY healthily this week. One has to, don’t they, after all the chocolate cookies and and latkes and cocktails? lol
Tonight, though, we’re havin biscuits and gravy and — which is not your kinda biscuits, more a bread thing. Anyway, Moo, who loves them, is swimming and she’ll work up a big appetite and her sister, who doesn’t like biscuits and gravy, will be leaving, so it’s the absolute ideal time 🙂

Congratulations. I love your photos and also your descriptions. You will be mighty small now. Do you eat any starches at all ?
The Fitbit might have been expensive right- it is, over here. I am sorry you can’t use it any more. I am losing weight too. But my face- the facial fat shows no signs of moving- any suggestions ?

      Thanks Susie!
I find that I lose weight from my face first. It’s where most people notice it. I don’t do anything different. It’s strange, isn’t it? But my problem is the apron of loose skin around the stomach… it’s not as big as some but because I find it hard to try and exercise specifically targeting areas. Instead I rely on my daily run around to keep fit.
I have not cut carbon totally..I just eat wholemeal bread. Pastas grains and rice and potatoes are still being eaten but all in moderation.
      I think that’s the key. 😍

Congratulations! Weight loss after Christmas! 🙂
With the fitbit allergy, have you tried sticking a strip of felt around the inside? I used to have to do that with watches and it worked well. Not sure how the fitbit works, but it might help.
