It is so easy, in this day and age, to try and emulate famous names, or strong characters who are around us regularly.
Not just characteristics, and mannerisms, or even clothes and makeup looks. Nowadays having plastic surgery to look like someone is not uncommon.
I’m sure many of us have been to the hairdresser, and requested a haircut like a specific star, like that Jennifer Aniston look of the 90’s!
But think seriously for a second.
Why be like someone else? Be yourself!
It’s not necessary to wear high fashion or certain trainers. you don’t have to control your laughter, just because it’s not ‘cool’ to laugh at certain things.
Do it. As long as you are not hurting anyone else, be true to yourself. If you are true to yourself, your inner beauty will shine through. Genuine people exude a totally different light to those who don’t really have their own personality.
If there is one thing you do today Peeps, it is this. Do something because you want to do it. Wear something because you like it.

So true! We are all different and we should be proud of ourselves. I have to admit, though, that when you are truly free and live the exciting life you want for years on end, it is hard to fit in again. Not that we want to fit and it will never happen, but it does feel weird to be surrounded by non-likeminded people in the Western (spoiled) world who have very different priorities.

This is one of my favourite quotes too that I was going to use on my website when I changed my theme a few days ago. I think it is by Oscar Wilde (he is one of my favourite sources of witty quotes).
I never understand why people want to try and change themselves into something or someone else.. some changes may be needed but you can’t live your life pretending as the truth will out.
It is the same with people that constantly take credit for others’ hard work or ideas, or worse, steal them!
I hear so often about people’s work on here getting copied or pirated. It makes me cross!

I love your post, sis! Since I stopped hiding my being I discovered what it means to laugh. I learned to laugh when I started to love myself again. There is only one “You” in this world and it would be a shame to miss only one of all the fantastic and unique “Yous”!
