Sadness #Loveuary day 17.1

I know it’s the month of love.

Love is there whether someone is  with you or not. It may be distance that keeps you apart. It may be something more… like death.

Just because a soul departs from this world, it doesn’t mean that we stop loving them.

This morning I was greeted by the news that one of my cousin brothers had passed away. He was a gentle soul, a wonderful person. A supportive father and loving grandad.

He’s been holding on by a string for a few days… but he slipped away this morning.

I’m hurting. I’m sad. But I’m not crying. He wouldn’t have wanted that.  My memories of him will live in my mind until it’s my time to go. The stories I tell of him will ensure he lives on in my children too.

I may feel down, but thinking of him will always bring a smile on my face.

Loss – a Tanka

The sadness grows deep
You left a gap hard to fill
Sleep tight big brother
Our love for you will remain
Though you walk with us no more

As the Vulcans would say, “I grieve with you.”

May there eventually be peace and nurturance from your memories of your cousin, and in sharing them in poetry and stories.

I am sorry, lil sis! I know how much family means to you and each single member. Yes, unfortunately, that is part of love too. Also saying goodbye to someone who is still with us but ways are parting is a little death. Something is finished. And no matter if we want that separation or not they keep something from us and we will always keep something from them. Also regarding those who passed away. The connection by heart can never be cut off. Not even through physical death. Hugging you strongly, sis 💖

Take him to your heart for he is there beating true within you … gone from his earthly body he is in the whisper of the wind, the wonder of the rainbow and warmth of the sunshine. My prayers for you and your family in your sadness x

Our loved ones that have passed live on in our hearts and memories. For a time we will be sad and for a time we will smile, remembering and missing the physical presence. Thank you for sharing Sister. You and the fam are in my prayers ❤

I pressed like because I understand that though you have lost your cousin you have not lost him completely because he lives on in you and in the stories you will tell your children. Life is short we must love everyone as much as we can for as long as we can . That said take heart and a hug. 💜💜

I won’t press ‘like’ because that feels wrong to me, when you write of bereavement. Just wanted to send you a big cyber-hug and share you sadness. Sit quietly with your memories and you honour your cousin’s onward journey.
