Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “short.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

My fuse was way too short yesterday.

Considering I have been at home for 2 weeks, I should be pretty relaxed, shouldn’t I?

And given the fact that my Hubby Dearest was picking up my new car too, that should have injected an airy and light bounce in my step, shouldn’t it?

But no, I ended up with a headache that threatened me from 3 pm, and it just grew and grew. I tried to fight it, but it was beating me, And it meant that I was in no frame of mind to deal with kids and their moodiness.

Everything Lil Man did was designed to frustrate, and usually, I can deal with it, but today, I just found myself taking the bait, and getting angry.

Hubby arrived with the car and we went for a spin, which was great, but Lil Man was just doing silly things, winding his sister up and all sorts, which got me even more agitated!

Still, no matter about my short fuse, lit by a short guy. My anger only lasts a short while!

I got a new car, yay!!!!!

    We all have short-fuse days, especially those of us who are married and/or have kids…ALL of us have them! It’s easy to silently shame yourself for not being who you expect yourself to be. I’m not saying you’re doing that, but just in case you are…here’s some validation:)

      It’s so easy to beat yourself up when you lose it with your kids… I’m kinda over that now. I feel. A bit bad then remember I’m only human!!!!

    Oh yes, sometimes my fuse goes short, too. The weirdest thing is when it happens on a day with no logical reason — then I just have to explain I’m being a grump and everyone who’s smart will take 3 steps back. 😉

    Do you think the headaches are a result of the accident? Have you been getting many of them? I sure hope not. Sorry to hear of them. On a lighter note, yay for your new car, have you picked out a name yet? xo

    Congratulations on your new car. I remember new cars are the hardest to drive. The first few weeks are stressful because I am just too cautious about scratches and dirts. 😀 Have a great weekend.

    It is lovely to have a new car. Children do drive you mad sometimes. I have two boys and they fight continuously! Never mind, tomorrow is another day.
