Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 39 – #icandothis

wp-1492120543707.It’s been another week of eating ups and downs. And it pains me to say that I had another 0.5lb gain, though I am still not over that weight ceiling I set myself!

I had fully expected to to to my bhangra class too this week, but I had some severe stomach pains on the Tuesday which meant that I thought it best not to push it on Wednesday.

I have decided that I have to be sensible now and not buy any naughty things that will tempt me to much. This last month and the munchy madness that has accompanied Pre/during/Post-Easter has meant that I have redeveloped a taste for the sugary treats that I always loved before.

I had managed to wean myself off them all, and kept a selection of treats that I knew were ‘allowed’ for me, but as soon as I ate ‘wrong’ things, I was like a recovering chocoholic falling off the wagon in a spectacular way!

Even now if I eat something I shouldn’t, my brain is telling me to have another… that eating double mentality of mine needs to do one!

But, I have been good too, as the meals below show you!

Have a great week Peeps!

And remember, ‘Enough is as good as a feast!” “Eating double causes trouble!”

The last two weeks I have been a VERY bad girl. lol I have been tired, and feeling it, and not putting enough effort into cooking.
I caught this last night when I said to The Mister, “I haven’t had a single real morsel of food since my tangerine at 7am.” — and then there was a long pause — “I have, however, had enough sugar for six people today.”
We finally ate a late dinner. I had grilled shrimp, wild rice, and asparagus. Must do better this week. Must sleep, for one 😉

That’s the mean thing. You can train your body well to stop craving for things but only give it to it once again and the craving increases!!d It is really tough. But you can make it. You already proved it!!

    Ritu
Have been there and done that at least half a dozen times in my life so far.
Success and then failure. Sometimes pro—-oooo- longed success and then quick failure. So much of my life is like a yo-yo.
I am sure you are tonnes better than I have ever been.
I wish stresses and strains didn’t pull us so towards sugary treats in our life.
But it is only a half pound gain for you, Ritu- not to worry- you picked it up on time.
    Susie

I’ve been there last year, I didn’t realize how bad my eating habits were and when I saw myself on family pictures last summer, I was shocked ! But I managed to get back to eating healthy and stop the huge in between munchies 😊 something that worked for me : baking your own sugary treats. That way you can have some control over your sugar/fat intake without going without treats !

Oh my! The foods are heavenly, but you know what they eat in moderation. You don’t have to avoid them, just try small servings. 🙂

It’s so easy isn’t it to slip off sensible eating habits. I’ve been watching Hubby munch through a cooked breakfast (I had my cereal and fruit), an entire barrel of biscuits, large bag of prawn crackers, 2 bars of chocolate and a bag of honey roast peanuts….. all in one day and on top of the delicious spag bol I cooked from scratch and fresh fruit salad with quark I did for dessert later. I am sticking to my guns and letting him get on with it. He’s hungry, so I’m not going to stop him. Tonight is a beef casserole which will actually do us 2 days, with a jacket potato. Three stone here I come (in a couple of weeks I hope). Stick with it Ritu.

Hi Sis, we all do it, we are so good as you say for months and we are delighted by the weight loss. Then we relax and the naughty habits creep up on us and people say “one won’t hurt” Oh! Oh! we all know that’s not true. Maintaining your perfect weight is always the hardest. You will find if you are sensible you will retrain your brain! 🤗 Just be kind to yourself and don’t give up or give in. You are doing great Sis I am proud of you!!!!💜

      Thanks Ananya!
I was sooo good for over 6 months!
My problem is that I have lapsed into bad habits and that odd treat is becoming far too regular again! But I WILL DO IT!!!
