Monday Meh! (Again)

Forgive me if I am not as wordy for the next couple of weeks…

The end is in sight, but it still feels far away!

Two more weeks until I can slip my teacher hat off and actually relax!

But there are still plenty of jobs to get done before I can do that!

The school kids don’t know yet which teachers they are getting next year, so there is a little buzz around because there are some changes in place. We have met most of our new students, and half have visited us, but there are still a few more to come. There is all manner of paperwork that needs updating and sorting out before the year ends, to tie up loose ends, and prepare for the next academic year.

I will probably need to pencil in the first week of holidays as time to go back into school with my colleagues to prepare the classrooms too!

Then, my envisioned summer of writing and keeping the kids occupied took a different turn, when we got a sudden influx of wedding invites!

At least 4 weekends with functions, one in the week day, I need to figure out when we are going to spend a week with my parents, and we are going to try and get away last minute too!

But on the flip side, I managed to make it public in my household that I do intend to concentrate on writing during the break, so now I have said it, I gotta do it, eh! If my Hubby Dearest wants to be a kept man, funded by the spoilts of my best seller, he needs to let me write it, eh!

Back to the now…

I am falling asleep much earlier each night due to exhaustion.

I have mentioned being so tired in the past…

Actually, right now, I am just plain exhausted, and I do give a shit! I don’t like to leave my blogily hanging either! So I will be around, but I might not be as noisy as I usually am!

So I am off to drag myself into the shower, and get ready for the penultimate Monday of term… And I shall try not not yawn…but I can’t promise that!

Have a much perkier Monday than I think I’m going to have Peeps!

hehehe I know what you mean Ritu, my hand got tired just scrolling all the way down to the bottom of your comment bar 😉 But I guess this probably classifies as one of those “first world problems” right?

Seriously though, I don’t know how you’re able to do as much as you do for so long. I’m retired, so no regular “job” responsibilities, and I have a hard time keeping with my humble little corner of the blogosphere.

    You are truly amazing woman!

Aw shucks Gabe, you are too sweet!
I don’t quite know how I manage, but I do! I guess it is about time management and prioritising!
And I have my phone with me all the time, So when I get spare time, I do y social media stuff!
At home, I am Mum And Wife first but the kids are getting older so they keep occupied, which means my relaxation, which is blogging and writing, gets a chance!
Obviously, the day job, teaching, has to get done, and it does, with bells on lol!
Not amazing, just determined, I guess!
I am pretty stubborn and when I get an idea in my head, I have to do it!
I think I set myself invisible goals and expectations which I have to achieve to feel truly calm lol!
Is it a Virgo trait? I don’t know lol!

hehehe one of these days… I’m going to discover the secret to “time management” and “prioritizing.” For now, its mostly about naps and pacing myself 😉
(Actually, I’m exaggerating a bit. When I was working, I was a platinum member of the workaholics club. But I think I exhausted myself so much, I’ll need the next several years of laziness to catch up on lost sleep -and fun)

Lol! I like to think I am managing to get the fun in there somewhat, but sleep does tend to suffer!! I envisage a lot of sleeping when I decide retirement is near!

I’m glad to hear you’ve made your writing plans “public.” I’ve found I’ve garnered more support than I expected when I went public. 🙂 Glad to hear you’ve taken the plunge!

Hope you do get some time to relax and WRITE. Enjoy all the social activities and above all your family time. You’re so popular and in demand, thats why you’re so booked up all summer. Take care and have some ME time as well.

My favorite part of this post is that you made your writing intentions “public” to your family. I sometimes “sneak” time away to work on my novels or blog and it invariably leads to hurt feeling or frustration. So going public is the way to go!

Indeed! If I don’t tgen tgere is that question in the others eyes… What are you doing? Why are you not talking about it? Are you writing or is there ‘something else’?
      Here’s hoping it happens!

So thinking this is your first weekend of school break? Make sure you take time for you during your break – yes to write and blogging. 4 weddings sigh that means showers also I imagine. So to a fabulous productive summer – looking forward to hearing all about it!

HaHa Ritu, almost there; done your sports day stuff yet? Trouble is, after the first week off time will suddenly start speeding up and poof, Autumn! I remember you mentioning the weddings too, disrupting that writing…or… valuable procrastinating tools? Dead handy if they can be used so lol.

Mine break up Thursday so chaos will be back, now that writing of mine….

I gave up my full time teaching job (adult ed) to move to the west of Ireland. I always looked forward to summer hols. Was wrecked! Trust me when I say that teaching adults is just as challenging as teaching children. 😂 Family just don’t get this work-from-home business. They think it’s totally flexible and I should be available ALWAYS! But hey…..I love it!

Well done on telling your family about the writing, that will definitely spur you on.
I did the same and now it’s spurring me on to move to the next stage! 💖

Summer vacation and projects? I think that’s a fantasy we perpetuate once we reach adulthood. I know I carried it into retirement, where I foundf I’m as busy or busier with different activities than I had during my working years: no rest for the wicker…or the saints among us!

Good luck, Ritu, finding even a little relief from the busy things in your lifge just now!
