Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 131

“Your speed doesn’t matter. Forward is forward.” – Anon

A wonderful reminder for us from Spidey this week Peeps!

This is so true! Sometimes I have to remind myself of this.

I am guilty of thinking that if I say I have to do something, I have to do it now!

Take my writing at the moment. I had so many plans, and ideas.

#RiNoWriMo.

Numbers were calculated, though not set in stone. But still, I wanted to succeed.

Now I have really taken this quote to heart.

I have accepted that I most likely, will not have finished my first draft at the end of August. But I started this 17 years ago, so from 13,000 words to close to 50,000 in three weeks is a pretty good chunk!

And I will continue to add to it, until my creativity is spent. When that happens, I will refresh myself, and then carry on, and hopefully, in the not too distant future, there will be a post telling you all to buy my book!!!!

Have a wonderful week Peeps!

I am not sure you mentioned this anywhere Ritu but do you self-publish or does a publishing house publish your work? Caught up a bit on your work here but still so many posts and blogs to visit as had been very busy

I self-published my poetry book, Geetha.
I am currently trying to finish my first draft of a novel I have been writing, and am not sure whether to try and go down the submitting manuscripts lane, or self publish again!

I think that in today’s day and age, self publishing is a good option. Was just wondering if I should try that for my English poetry book and Japanese art forms book. Was your publishing agency good? I only have access to the French ones as I published my French poetry book but never one in English

I am like that too, Sis, wanting to get everything done as soon as I can. I realised though, that I just can’t do everything and by putting too much pressure on myself it was making me feel guilty, which in turn was bringing me down!
I have loosened up a lot now, and it is true that any progress is good progress! You WILL wrtie that book, of that I have no doubt 🙂

I can relate to that so well. When I start something I want to get it done for many reasons. For once because I want to have it completed and also because I want to have it off my chest. But very often I am simply excited to start it and reserve the time to dedicate myself to it. But I am more and more relaxed about this. When I notice that my excitement fades and my focus only lies on the matter because I started it then I am very relaxed to let it rest… unless it really needs to be done!!

Definitely wisdom to take to heart Sister! Sometimes you can be so driven to get it done right now that the sense of accomplishment has no real meaning to it other than look what I did.

I also sometimes have to change unrealistic targets, Ritu. As you say progress is progress.
