One Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds – Creative Tiredness

“When you let your imagination run away with you, be prepared for the mental exhaustion.” – Ritu

For Linda’s #1LinerWeds challenge.

That was my one line, here’s my explanation:

The last month has seen me write over 50,000 words. I have never written so much in such a short space of time!

And while I wrote, my brain, my imagination went wild. I created this amazing (to me!) story.

Then I had to stop.

All that thinking and writing drained me!

I’m back to school on Monday, and the way I feel at the moment, if I don’t take a step back, I’ll be more tired than I was before the six-week break!

My story is still not finished, But will see its end, sooner rather than later.

But I’m taking advice from my brain now, to step back for a little while to allow my creative self to get her second wind, before charging on again!

Have a great Wednesday Peeps!

Way to go, Ritu! But, please step back till school starts next week. I started back this week. Monday was terrific and inspiring. Today I feel totally fried (and it’s only Wednesday!). Children come tomorrow for a visit- beyond wonderful and exhausting, as you know. Then a long weekend before the school year begins. On a side note, I need to do do as much cleaning, organizing, sorting, and purging at home as I do at school!! Ha! Take a break, my friend.

You have sure earned a nap or three! I bet it was worth it. Sometimes when I’m exhausted, my imagination runs away with me, but I don’t always capture it on paper.

Good for you, Ritu! Enjoy your break while you can get it! Mine’s coming when school starts, so we’re opposite. 🙂

I needed no explanation Ritu having successfully done NaNoWriMo last year. Fallout from the was huge in terms of emotional drain and possibly initiated a semi reluctance to enter that zone again! I was privately wondering if your amazing word count was going to kick back at some point. I think a lot of people underestimate the mindset when it embarks into the mind palace for a protracted period. That said it’s also a very satisfying feeling too so well done again 😊

Your story has come a long way due to your persistence and determination. And there will come another time when you will set some time aside to focus on it with new experiences and fresh ideas!!

I am amazed that someone can write 50,000 words in a month. It takes me a long time to write 500. Nice quote about the imagination and exhaustion.

    You are egoists! hahaha
Does anyone think of the poor pupils?
Each hour another teacher, and other things.
How I hated that until finally freedom came at the university ,-)

Lol!!! At least they go home at 3.20… we have to plan mark assess and then go home a good few hours after they finish and do life stuff Too!!! Like cook and clean! And get in earlier than them to make sure all the torture weapons (lessons) are prepared!!!

Wow – that’s a heap of words. Congrats for being able to crank through the month at that pace. I need a nap from just thinking about it.

It sounds as though you might need a few naps, Ritu. Or maybe a day off?

Poor Sis, but at least you got a hell of a lot of writing done during this month. Hopefully, you can enjoy the rest of the holiday now and give yourself a rest, you deserve it!! 🙂

    When you write every day
    The words do stack up
    Between Friday and Saturday
Of last week I did somewhere in the neighborhood of twelve poems
    Lots of words,congrats Ritu
