What Unites Humanity?: A BeWoW Blogger’s Post

Annette has sparked a poetry sharing frenzy with her Random Acts Of Poetry post!

She suggested dropping poetic lines anywhere and everywhere, and I would have done that, but being a little unwell I couldn’t… so I share one I wrote a while back for Ronovan’s BeWoW challenge!

Humanity

A simple heart, beating strong
Crimson blood running through veins long.
A pair of lungs breathing fast
A skeleton that’s built to last…

Muscles, tissues, fat, and skin
The important thing it’s all encased in

White, black, yellow, or brown…
But why do some of these raise a frown?
Why concern for some, and hate for others?
Are we not all sisters and brothers?

Is each body not the same?
Just the difference of a name?
A bit less melanin here, than there
That that makes you superior, I was not aware…

Respect life, no matter what creed
For every colour has a need
Humanity in harmony, what I’d love to see
A dream for all?… Or is it just me…

Inspired by Ronovan’s #BeWoW weekly post share

But I Smile Anyway...

More than truth, more than wisdom here. Your words are touching the very heart of what we hold dear. Thank to you, Ritu, I see the world and me, in harmony!

Its not just you Ritu. We are all the same. As you may remember from my old page. Any kind of discrimination really annoys me whether it be race, religion, or sexuality but what really gets to me is the fact that adults still fanatically instill these beliefs into the youth of today. Great post by the way as always😊

Thank you! Its something so fundamentally true, yet still it is the biggest problem in the world…

I know it makes sick. But i still put alot of the problem down to media and social conditioning.

Definitely! It’s in us all, and down to us how we portray the whole issue to our children, so they may move forward from this…

I couldnt agree more. I also think one of the problems is alot of youth nowadays are too eager to believe everything they see hear or read without question and without facts facebook is a prime example

Its about education from an early age the problem is and you can probably appreciate this its what their taught once they go home by parents etc that really counts. For instance ive just drove through cheetham hill manchester and where i see culture, diversity, tolerance because its how i was raised others see n@#$/rs, p$/^IS, Asylum seekers. Then theres always the properganda machine. It always reminds me of the scene from rocky 4 with the russian premiere. “You think your people are so very good and we are so very bad” this is how the worlds media portrays things it alway east v west, north v south, good v evil i could go on all night

You’re right… I must admit, before working in my present school, I had worries, and stereotypes of the Eastern European community, but after working with the children, I have come to understand much more…

It happens all over the world ritu. We see it daily with the us/gb and the middle east and at the moment with ukrane and russia its just a vicious circle of socail conditioning hate against other religions and races but when the whole world is at fault what can be done?

It seems as much as we try the haters fight back i really wish we could overcome all this but i just dont see an end for generations. I think it would take a worldwide disaster to unite the people in a common cause. I sound like hollywood now. All we can do is spread our little bit of tolerance and hope someone somewhere takes note and follows the domino effect😊
