How QUICKLY you SLIPPED and put on a teacher’s hat to teach about haiku. My bad, this was a prompt about “quick and slip”, so it must have been natural.🙂

I love your haiku! It’s so cold and windy here with more snow than I’ve seen in years. Bring on spring! 🙂

Loved your haiku as well as the teaching hat you wore for a friend to explain its creation. 🙂

Ritu waiting for Ritu’s Renditions. Love how you make the Hindi songs your own with a hint of angrezi accent! ❤️ Great Haiku!

I learned by reading the advice from Ron then added to my knowledge from Colleen Cheseboro who does the Tuesday tanka challenge.
The most important factor is s haiku should be about nature. The 5/7/5 syllable count for the three lines is important. Yoyr first two lines (5/7) should read like one sentence. The second and third lines 7/5) should also read like a sentence too.
So there is an overlap to the words…
        Does that make sense?

        So… my haiku today…

        Amazing how quick
        Winter slips into springtime
        Fresh starts for us all

        Should split neatly

Amazing how quick winter slips into springtime

        And

Winter slips into springtime, fresh starts for us all

        Hope that helps!

Lol!!! It took me a few goes to get it.
Remember a haiku is based on nature.
        Remember the 5/7/5 syllable count
So line one has 5 syllables
        Line two has 7 syllables
        Line three has 5 syllables

There is no rhyming involved. It’s more about the meaning of the words you use and the two sentences you create!

Now I’m confused as to what a Syllable actually is is it a word

No it is what you count when you break a word down.
        So apple has 2 syllables… a pple
Banana has 3… ba na na
Syllable has 3… sy lla ble
Procrastination has 5… pro cras ti na tion

        Any clearer?

Yes little bit so now you’re saying it’s 575 the first line should contain five syllables the second seven An 3rd 5 yes 😉d
