Oops! I Let It Slip! #icandothis

No, not a big secret!

My weight.

After a real battle a couple of years ago, I managed to lose weight so well, using the Slimming World approach. I even posted weekly about how I was doing, and for a good 6-8 months after reaching my target weight I ‘maintained’ that weight, give or take a pound or two here or there.

Then I started to lapse… Work was stressful, home was full of craziness. And when I stress, I turn to food (I do wish I was a person who lost their appetite … it never happens!)

So there was still good, healthy eating happening… but in addition, the sweet and savoury snacks seemed to creep into my daily diet, rather a lot.

Oops!

And then the Easter holidays are always a sticking point for me… all those Chocolate eggs! I was good, I didn’t overbuy them. So the temptation was not there. (Well, there were a few, but they were the kids, though I may have helped them finish the eggs…)

We went away and ate LOADS of stuff. I didn’t worry, because it was enjoyment time. And I got out of the weighing myself regularly habit too.

I mentioned to Hubby Dearest, who enjoys eating out and takeaways a bit too much, the night before that I was going to have to get back to eating better soon…

Then, this morning I did that scale thing… and wished I hadn’t!

I had crept over the 10 stone mark. So I was around half a stone over where I really wanted to be! Eeek!

Then Hubby Dearest requested that I get a Macdonalds breakfast for him, and anyone else who wants it, on my way back from grocery shopping…! No!!!!! I refused to go, initially – I mean, the laziness!

But you know what… I caved. (I’m a big softie, you know!) Lil Man ordered pancakes and Hubby Dearest wanted his sausage and Egg McMuffin.

I got them and managed to stay on my healthy eating saddle… Got home and served them their naughty brekkies, and I had this.

I can do it… honestly!

And my aim is, with 4 weeks until the Annual Bloggers Bash, to get to as close to 9 1/2 stone as I can!

Though with the baking I like to do for the Bash, I’m not sure how I’ll do!!!

Talking about the bash… did you vote for the ABBA awards yet?

Did you know I’ve been nominated for Best Overall Blogger?

Congratulations on being the Best Overall Blogger!!!! So proud of you! You have my support!!! Sadly, voting closed – we were cruising on 4-30-18 But I will be rooting for you to win!!!

Loved your post! You made me learn something today – the conversion of a stone into pounds. You are close to your goal and I know you will get there by the time you want – will it and you will make it happen!!

I have found that the best way for the cook to lose weight is to not enable the others in the family. I know when I was growing up dinner time was not treated like a trip to a restaurant! You ate what was prepared, end of story! So maybe just a revised and less severe diet for the rest of the family but an adjusted diet nonetheless! Just my opinion! Ha! My wife being on South Beach for eight weeks helped her lose 20 pounds and her modifying my diet helped me drop 11 pounds! And I didn’t suffer other than eating more salads. LOL!

Again, Good luck on the Best Overall Blogger Award! And I so much appreciate all your support for my blog with all your visits/views and comments!
    Bless You,
    Chuck
    xoxo

Dieting is really hard, Ritu. My Michael has lost 11 kilograms (I don’t know stones but I think it is 6.35 kg to 1 stone so that is c. 1.7 stone lost).

Weight gain ….aghh, bane of my life for last couple of years. I have always been very slim, lost weight easily after the kids etc. etc. Then my back probs kicked in again, and I just looked at 2 particular drugs and the weight started to pile on. Add to that not being able to exercise much and turning 40 eek!! But now my whole condition is worsening and my gut is involved….I am gluten free, lactose free, onion & garlic free amongst other things…and struggle to digest/keep it down….BUT upside is I am back in my old clothes. Don’t recommend this though ha, ha,ha. You can do it Ritu…..and we will all love you next month with or without that 7lbs!!

I was being tested for food sensitivities a while back, and the diet I had to follow excluded chocolate, onions, dairy, vodka and Wine! it was a bleak 4 weeks!

This will be a β€˜rest of my life’ thing. πŸ˜” I’ve been diagnosed with connective tissue disease Sjogrens Syndrome – waiting to hear if its β€˜just’ that of if I have an autoimmune condition too. On the back of the scare Mum gave me last week, it’s been. Rough 10 days.

Oh I’ve been the same. I’ve been so ill on and off since the beginning of January and for some reason this has increased my appetite. Especially for sweets things. I think this was my body’s way of building up calories to help fight illness. This is what I’m telling myself haha. Anyway, I’m not going to worry too much about it. I’ll slowly get back to where I was I’m sure. Oh and I’m sure you’re just as beautiful at 10 stone or 9.5 stone Ritu x

You are not alone! They told me not to lose any more weight last year as my tattoos (dots) wouldn’t line up for my radiotherapy. I obliged, and things have gone downhill (or upscale) since then. So, I have been trying, and maintaining a weight I don’t want to be, though only half a stone heavier than I was last year. Still not good. New cooker, new pans, new dishes, I’m up for it. Good luck in this and the Bloggers Bash too.

Have you been in my house? I had the EXACT same conversation with myself this morning. It was so easy for me to stay on track when my husband was taking care of his mom in Oregon a lot last year and the year before. He would be gone for three weeks or so, come back for a month and then go up for another three or four weeks. During that time I managed to lose 40 pounds! He has not had to take care of her this year and I’ve put back 10, for the same reason. I want to eat healthy and he does not. Guilty wife feelings take over and I cave and have Chinese or pizza or whatever so we can be “eating together.” Today I woke up and said “That’s it! I’m done. Back to following the Hungry Girl eating plan for me.” Good luck to you, both with the weight and the blog award – I voted πŸ™‚

It’s so tough! I reached target in November and have been between 3lb under (yay) and 2lb over (boo) but i still regularly go to weigh in to make sure I don’t lapse too badly! I’m definitely not planning to be on plan for the Bloggers Bash though so bring on the cakes πŸ˜„

I think I know what I need to do but I just have times of the year where a lapse is just going to happen!!!!

10 stone!!! I don’t even dream about being 10 stone! I would be happy to be 12, something I’m nowhere near.

I’m joking I know we all have different target weights and it can be very hard when the house is full of nice things to eat. Well done resting the unhealthy breakfast.

I gained 10 lbs over the Christmas Holiday through Karneval. It was all if the weight that I had initially lost when I moved to Germany. So frustrating! I love desserts, I love to bake and I do love a nice glass or two of wine, or a beer or some gin or….. The calories!! I am back on track, and walking several miles everyday. Hoping to lose this tire around my waist. I am with ya sista!
