Chai and a Chat – #2 #ChaiAndAChat

Well hello there!

A week has gone by and it is definitely time for our weekly catch up over a chai, or any beverage you fancy!

Chai and a Chat

  • If we were sipping a chai together, I’d tell you that my exhaustion has not stopped. In fact, it near killed me at the beginning of the week, with a two-day migraine, that got me sent home from school on Monday and kept me off on Tuesday too. I even missed a trip to take the children to the library, so you know it was bad!
  • If we were sipping a chai together, I’d tell you I was pretty nervous about going back to school, but that everything was actually pretty good in the end!
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d let you know that another extremely special BBF of mine had her 45th birthday, and we celebrated by her drinking her pink gin present, followed by me getting another migraine!
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d be complaining about the fact that my taxi service is back in service now too, now that Lil Man’s indoor Cricket training has started up! Meh!
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d be discussing the 11+ tests, and telling you how hard it was to see and hear about the children who had passed/failed – cried/jumped for joy, all for this selective education that is not actually accessible to everyone, and the results of which can affect a child negatively, if they think, at 11, that they failed.
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d confess that I have become a Baby Shark addict and that I play it as a get-up and dance song with my nursery children on the two days I am in charge of them!
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d tell you that we had a wonderful Friday evening with my Brother in Law and his wife. It was an impromptu evening full of food, drink and a whole lot of belly laughter!
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d mention that we had a day out as a family on Saturday and I had the joy of taking a certain young lady for her first bra fitting – EEEK! We went to the cinema and watched Night School, which was really funny, but also touched upon Special Educational Needs – a topic close to my heart.
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d say that Sunday was almost idyllic, with me sitting on the sofa most of the day, unless I needed to feed people, reading. My perfect downtime.
  • If we were sipping chai together, I would tell you that Pops cataract operation went really well, and hopefully, the follow-up appointment will be positive, resulting in him getting a date for the other eye op too!
  • If we were sipping chai together, I’d be showing off my lovely french manicured nails too. I do love a fresh set of nails!!!

And for the week ahead?

  • If we were sipping that chai together, and possibly reaching for cake or cookies, I’d let you know that I am trying not to count down, as every day is a new day, but that this is the last week before our October half term week off!
  • I would mention that it is harvest festival at school this week and that I need to remember the donations for the food banks that my kids need to take in!

So, what’s your week been like, and what are you looking forward to?

If you want, drop a line in the comments, or even link back to this with a Chai and a Chat post of your own!

I am so late in reading this, that I missed out on the chai! Lol Today is Friday, October 19th, and I NEED the weekend. I skipped a meeting this evening because this week has been so brutal. I really wanted to go, and I miss seeing friends I only see once a month. I hope to restore my peace and energy tomorrow. Sunday I teach 5th grade Sunday School, and Monday I will grade papers for my Advanced Writing class which meets on Wednesday. I will not do my usual volunteer day for pre-school through 2nd grade on Tuesday, for that was what wore me out this week. Wednesday is the university Advanced Writing, and Thursday I teach ESL and tutor it in the afternoon. Friday will bring more tutoring and I’ll probably be in the same condition I am tonight this coming Friday. Now we are both caught up, and I think you’ll agree SOMETHING’S Gotta give!

I am so sorry to know you’ve been down with migraines so often. I used to get them awful and often, and now not so much. I hope one day that happens to you, too.
    Hope you unplugged 🙂

Thank you for saying all the things that you/we feel. Lately I have laughed with my teaching mates that I’m running on a giant hamster wheel, and it never ends. Sigh! Like you, I’m the glass-half-full, and relish so many wonderful things that happen. Life is exhausting, busy, full of moments, and good. Do you have the “Life is Good” logo clothing in England? It is enormously popular here.

I hope Pops is doing well. And I hope your migraines are under control. Best to you! 😍

Oh, sis, how could I not notice that you are close to a burn-out? I must have missed some posts. I am sorry! You are everywhere at once and at one point it is simply too much. Not easy to find out which was the triggering factor. I hope that you find it and change something about it. I know that we expect much more of ourselves than anybody would. We think we need to be strong, to not give in, to get everything done, and still add jobs and duties. I think I understand you so well since I am at a similar point. We need to be strong but not at all costs.
Much love… and again, I am sipping on a Chai right now. Cheers, sis 💖

if we were sipping chai right now, your H would wonder who left you alone with me and when I was gonna kidnap you and take you away. but that’s just me and my infatuation with good looking Indian ladies. 😉

My goodness you are a busy lady. If we were having a Chai and a Chat I would share with you that I am getting ready to go to Chanhassen Minnesota again for JusticeDay. A group of us are going to meet there this month to rally for justice in the murder of Prince. The truth of his murder is close to be revealed.
I would tell you that migraines are generally a reaction to the outward stress we place on ourselves and physically can be the result of some kind of gastric issue in the body. I would suggest two things. 1. have your colon checked and 2. Find a nice piece of Amethyst; either a piece of jewelry of a crystal you can carry with you at all times. I will help!
I would tell you that I used to suffer from severe migrains and bought my Amethyst pendant because of them. I have not had a single migrain sine I began wearing it over 15 years ago. I only take it off to charge it in the moonlight every month.
    Have a wonderful day!

Great news about the op for pops! Not great to hear about nasty migraines though. Do you know what triggered them? When was your last eye test it could be that! Hope this week is better.

Baby shark is hilarious! I have been known to annoy my boyfriend with it, because you know, once it’s in your head…. I hope your head feels better this week 🙂

I love this idea, Ritu. So interesting to read about your daily life. I am really pleased to hear your Pop’s operation went well. What a relief. Sorry about your migraines – isn’t there something you could take to prevent them? Not pleasant to suffer from migraines. I hope your week is good. Hugs.
