#SoCS November 24/18 – Digest

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “digest.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

It’s the last Saturday of November.

I’m finding that rather hard to digest

Where has the year gone?

Before long, the kids will want the Christmas tree up. I’ll have to start doing the pointless present shopping for the family, for presents, that we don’t really need to be exchanging.

I get the kids wanting presents, and I can accept that, but do we really, as adults need to be spending silly money on pontless gifts?

Personally, I love just spend time with the family, and my loved ones…

What do you think?

I like presents, but I do agree Christmas is for kids! Or kids at heart! Lol 😛

I agree Sis and find Christmas very stressful every year 💜

I take my boys to a Celtics game and that’s it. Less junk to clutter the house and we make great memories together.

Definitely the family, not the presents! 🙂

I love an experience gift. A while back I got my sister-in-law (who used to be a gymnast) time at a trapeze place in a city near her. I also always appreciate a gift card to a restaurant I wouldn’t normally spring for! And right now, we are celebrating my boys’ birthday at the beach. Even off-season, it’s fun spending time together. I hear you–time together is so much more celebratory than “stuff.”

The massive materialism of holidays are beyond disgusting and not the point. So why is this kind of thinking allowed to continue? My family stopped doing Christmas years ago. The Love we share is more important. The time spent talking, laughing and building the connection we have as a family means more than any gift purchased because “It’s Christmas and I need to but you something”

I hear you, Ritu. I also think Christmas is a bit overrated as far as gifts are concerned. Terence and I don’t go big with each other at all. We prefer to plan a short reprieve somewhere nice.

I started our shopping over the last few days and yeah, it’s not so fun. I love the idea of sharing something that made me think of that person, but when I fight and struggle for gift ideas it reminds me that we force so much in December. Wonder if I can convince my family to boycott presents at some point…

December is sneaking up fast. We are shopping less this year. Christmas still seems special but shopping doesn’t.

Wish you all the best, Sis! After “Black Friday” the “Happy Ritu Days” are beginning. Take the debit card and start cruising through all the shopping centers on the isle. Be happy you to have so much of them. 🙂
    Happy Saturday! Michael

Spending time together is the thing – and not just all gathered together around different screens, either. G:)
