#Blogmas2018 Ritu’s Blog Tips #12

Day 12

My muse, my tea my workstation!

Find your voice.

This is quite simple.

Don’t attempt to copy someone else’s style.

Be you.

Find your niche – or don’t (I never did!) but always find your voice.

Your voice gives your blog it’s personality, especially if it is a blog that is not connected to a business.

Your blog should be able to allow your creativity to shine, be it poetry or fiction, ramblings or recipes.

Your style is what will make your blog readable, what will attract like-minded bloggers to your site. Something that is identifiably YOU!

Very good advice! Being true to yourself, authentic and genuine means you’ll write with more passion; everyone has something unique to give, something unique to say. xx

I just started a blog and have no idea what I’m doing, this post was just what I needed to see when I needed to see it. So glad I stumbled upon your blog! Thanks for the inspiration.

Others can inspire but copying others doesn’t work out. It is an empty shell which will break over time because you cannot fill it with yourself… and that gets noticed.

Good one Ritu. Copying another’s style in writing is no different from copying a visual art style, or a music style. It says everything about the person you are copying, but nothing positive about yourself. Always be yourself because, after all, you will not be successful trying to be somebody else! A concept to not only Blog by … but also to live by! 🙂

It’s not something you necessarily have from the start. I think mine developed in discussions with readers, as I realised that they didn’t mind my enthusiasm or my pedantry.

“Your blog should be able to allow your creativity to shine, be it prose or fiction, ramblings or recipes.” – why do you hate poetry😓
    I lost my voice.

This tip is what I would hammer home to every new blogger and even to some seasoned ones!!
It’s so draining to try and be someone else.
I don’t have a niche either, but I stick to me and my voice!
