#Blogmas2018 Ritu’s Blog Tips #18

Day 18

My muse, my tea my workstation!

Use images and pictures

Let’s be honest. Who wants to sit and read a chunk of 1,200 words on a blog post and nothing else?

It’s always inportant to find at least one image for your posts, to break the words up.

Make sure you are using a source which allowes for sharing of images, like Pixabay, which is free.

If you find another image, you should always credit the source it was taken from.

Alternatively, you can use your own images.

When sharing your posts on certain mediums, image is the most important thing, as your photo is what will attract prospective readers, on Pinterest, for example.

Sites like Canva are great for creating Pinterest worthy images, and others too. You can creat prety much anything on there, using your own images, or ready set templates where you just have to change the text.

They give a professional feel to your posts too.

I am not the best at these, but I do try! And I have my Bitmoji to help me along!

I have to look into Bitmoji. Back in my teaching days, I always thought it would be cool to dress up my overhead slides (remember those, from the pre-Powerpoint days?) with caricatures of myself, but I couldn’t draw to save my life…

Love this advice too. But sometimes it is really difficult to choose the images. Best wishes, Michael

I try to use my own photos whenever I can so I don’t have to worry about copyright problems. It does make it more interesting to read a blog with pictures. Love you Bitmoji. Just made one of those for myself too!

I was given this advice years ago. Imagines can add so many interpretations to your words.

Images are the bane of my blogging life, because you’re right about posts needing pictures. Fortunately my collection of photos is growing.

Agreed, Ritu. Posts with pictures in them do much better than those with none.
