Chai And A Chat #12 #ChaiAndAChat

Got your drink ready? Or at least got your kettle on? Settle down then!

  • If we were sipping chai together  I’d firstly say, PHEW! We are finally on holiday! The last term has been really long, and coupled with the staffing issues and illness, it has not been an easy ride, but we have got there!
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d tell you that Christmas can really make a teacher feel appreciated! My pupils ad colleagues excelled themselves, I was loaded down with gift bags to take home, filled with choccies, bickies and all sorts of lovely goodies!
  • If we were sipping chai together  I’d tell you about another drama involving Lil Man, his friends, an X-Box controller, security cameras, black magic, Autism and friendship… but it would be far too long, and we’d need IV drips for our drinks! Suffice to say, Tuesday was an eventful evening!
  • If we were sipping chai together I’d say the staff Christmas party was a fun evening, even though the younger members of staff didn’t quite appreciate the entertainment, asking what a UB40 was, rather than who… as we had a tribute band, UB42, providing the music for part of the evening! Still, I enjoyed it and by swaying along to the reggae, I smashed my step count and active minutes according to the FitBit app!
  • If we were sipping chai together  I’d tell you that I have been secreting little presents away for the kids, and now I really need to get them wrapped!
If we were sipping chai together I’d tell you Saturday and Sunday were pretty calm, all Christmas-panic-related things, considered!
  • If we were sipping that chai together, and possibly reaching for cake or cookies I’d whisper that I still haven’t wrapped anything! Eeeek! Guess what I’ll be doing this evening!
  • If we were sipping that chai together, and possibly reaching for cake or cookies I’d rant that I have to take Lil Princess to a party today – on Christmas Eve – at the local Shopping centre! Seriously? Who chooses one of the busiest times of the year and one of the busiest venues, to have a party?! Still, I am hoping to have a couple of hours of either shopping, or sitting with a book and a Chai Latte at Costa, to while the party hours away!
  • If we were sipping that chai together, and possibly reaching for cake or cookies I’d wish you a very Merry Christmas, and say, I look forward to all the Christmas stories next week!

That party venue has me tsking. The only way that’d be good is if you WANTED to go to the shops that day. Otherwise, I think not. I’m surprised people are going. One of the teens my teens adore had a party as she does every year, the games, the pool, the hotel — but, this year it fell over the turkey weekend and it ended up being a wee small party and not the blowout event it usually is. Terrible waste of mom’s effort, I’m afraid.
Nice loot, Teach! You are surely beloved by your students and their parents.
I hope you get all your prezzies wrapped and have a wonderful day! 😀

Well… It ended up okay. The shopping centre wasn’t too busy, most people sensibly at home, wrapping and preparing!
I dropped her, did some last minute bits and then had a lovely lunch with my kindle!
      Can’t complain!
      Merry Christmas Joey 🎄🎅🎄🎅

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Sis! Have a break, and dont worry about unwrapped gifts. Santa had no time this year. Ma dear, you can not shock your younger collegues with a cover band from i time without internet and martphones.. Ask them about a music box, and they will answer with Echo. 🙂 Best wishes, Michael

A super collection of goodies from the school children, even though I don’t recognize a single label! I know exactly what you mean about the music with younger staff 😀. Somehow all the wrapping, decorating, and baking come together, don’t they? Enjoy your holiday and Christmas, Ritu!

Our shopping malls are completely manic, Ritu. There is no way I’d take my kids to a party at one today. Have a great day tomorrow and good luck with the wrapping.

Hi Ritu, Always so entertaining and graphic…Have a deserved holiday by the sound of it. Brings back memories of when my three sons were young (no grand-children! Curses…) I recall present wrapping (and reggae rapping…) until the wee hours too..Have a wonderful Christmas holiday. Hugs Joy xx (PS They-the lads- entertain US now!)..

Sipping peppermint tea and remembering what it was like for my sister who was a teacher around Christmas. She used to get some really cool things. My daughter lucked out this year, her first as a teacher’s assistant for 1st graders. LOL about UB40! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Ritu.
