Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 227

img_00411

What dreadful hot weather we have! It keeps one in a continual state of inelegance.

Jane Austen

Thanks Spidey, for another apt one!

I am in total agreement with Ms Austen here.

The heat makes me melt.

I glow. (Polite way of saying I sweat!)

Makeup? What’s the point? It slides off anyway.

Clothes? Do I have to wear them?

I am not good in high heat.

We had a day of over 30 degree weather yesterday. Oh boy, I felt it. And the air con isn’t working (again) in my car. Torture!

Today I am taking Lil Man to another cricket match. It is meant to be cooler, but still warm… Will I be able to drive home? Or will I be a puddle on the cricket green?

Definitely inelegance in action…

So… tell me, how do you feel about the heat?

Bless you – not great timing for the air con to not work in your car!! It’s not as hot up here Ritu but I’m struggling especially at night. Hopefully it’ll cool down a bit so I can get some sleep before the baby comes!

I am a summer type of person – 30 C sounds pretty nice to me! We’ve had 100F recently (~38C), and I find that’s getting to the not so fun levels of hot.

Honey, you don’t know heat until you pair it with the humidity of the Texas Gulf Coast! Last week it got up to 97 and 98 degrees F, but the “feels like” temperature was 111 degrees F.
You’ll have to do the Celsius conversions, but the TV local news was telling people to let the kids play outdoors now, wake them up at 6:30 a.m. because after 10:00 a.m. it was dangerous for anyone to be outside!
What it feels like is a Turkish Steam Bath like you see in Godfather and old movies!

The heat never bothered me till I hit fifty. Now I feel much the same way you do plus the humidity in Jersey causes my hair to do the most unattractive things!

I had my first swim in the sea. Dinner is late as I have to keep watering my many pots and tubs in the garden, I’ve got heat rash and we’ve only had a few hot days!

Haha, thirty degrees is quite close to our winter day time temperatures, Ritu. Our summer temperatures have been up close to forty degrees for the past few years. I think the UK is more humid which would make it worse, ours is a dry heat.

The heatwave has Europe in its claws. We are in the mid to upper 30s for days. It is funny to listen to complaints of the people around here: May was too cold, June too hot … thank God, we cannot change the weather individually 😄

I was definitely in a state of inelegance yesterday and not just when I was out for my run in the morning. I was playing in a concert last night, so I had to wear clothes that covered all of me, including my arms. It wasn’t comfortable at all.
