Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 228

“When I’m tired, I rest. I say, ‘I can’t be a superwoman today.”

Jada Pinkett Smith

Thanks Spidey!

Yes! Yes! Jada, Yes!!!

I agree with you 100%!

I just wish I could follow that thought process through.

I need to really learn when to step back and say “no, I can’t do that. I am too tired.”

Instead I am always running on nearly empty, refuelling just enough to get through, then running myself low again.

That is not a good way to live.

I really need to take Mrs Pinkett Smith’s advice, so I can continue to be a superwoman, like all those others out there!

So… tell me, do you know when to take a break?

I needed to see this today. There is no tired like cluster feeding a newborn and then feeling guilty for not being able to do much else because baby is attached to you and when she’s isn’t you feel so exhausted you can’t think straight.

No, of course I don’t. I am exactly the same as you.

I don’t know when to take a break. Sometimes I take a sleeping pill just so my mind will stop racing.

So true Sis! The only way you can save your health and nerves. But for myself i need to learn this a little bit more. Till now too often my body tells me, and i spontanously slept away. 😉 Michael

That is definitely one thing I have learned (not completely yet… lol) but at least I am more stepping back and letting things be what they are, making room for myself, or at least spoiling myself after such busy and hectic days. Yes, we don’t need to be superwomen and that is super!!

You are so right Sis. Most of us burn the candle at both ends and then it burns out quicker! I tend to run til I drop. Then I get ill like now. (I think you do the same) We all think we are superwoman…we are not . Live ya ! 💜💜💜

It’s 100% vital that I stop and rest when I’m tired or approaching burnout. Since my illness a few years ago I get totally wiped out by doing the smallest of activities. Once upon a time I would ‘power on’ but no more. My mental and physical health must take priority.

When I was at uni I got post viral fatigue. It wiped me out.is Took 10 years to get back to a normal level of energy…
I try so hard, but there are days when the list is long and time is short.
I’m getting better at prioritising though!

We cannot be the end all do all Sister. What good are we to ourselves or anyone else if we burn out.
