Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 241 – Exhausted

On an exhausted field, only weeds grow

Henryk Sienkiewicz

Yeah, thanks, Spidey, for likening me to a field…

But, honestly, that is how I feel at the moment.

You all know that I have stepped back from posting regularly because I mentioned being rather tired. I felt that a little mental break would help.

I had submitted my manuscript to a publisher and used that six weeks of waiting to step back from that creativity too.

Unfortunatley, I can’t step away from motherhood, or my day job of being a teacher, but even there, I have tried not to stay later than I have to at school. Usually, I’m in from 7.45am, and I leave betweek 5-5.30pm.

As for home, I have skimped on wheat I can, ironing as and when I need to, keeping the hosue clean and tidy, but not pushing myself too much, and sleeping earlier.

But it hasn’t really made a huge amount of difference.

Take yesterday. I had a littel cat nap in the afternoon, except when I woke up, I realised I had slept for 3 hours! And I could have stayed asleep for longer.

Drained.

That is how I feel.

Adn I know I can’t give my best in this state.

I have called the doctor and made an appointment, but the earliest I could get was in NOVEMBER! I hope that I can ring in during the half term and see him earlier. Maybe it’s a vitamin deficiency, or something else.

Whatever it is, I need to get it sorted. I can’t exist like this.

I have a book to get out there. I have a class to teach. I have two children who need encouragement. I have a husband who needs his wife by his side. I have a family who want me to be the best me I can be. I have friends I don’t want to miss out on seeing…

So… tell me, what suggestions do you have for lessening this exhaustion?

When you go to the doctor, have him check your vitamin D level.

When I was your age (a bit younger) I had the same thing. Low Thyroid. In the meantime, rest and let go of what you can. Best to you, Ritu! ❤️

Wow! So sorry to hear about your struggle with exhaustion, My Dear!!! Wonder Woman needs her energy?? You are working awfully long hours at school??? I will have to see if I can find some answers. My first suggestion is to take a multi-vit, at least 1,000 mg of D3 twice a day, 2000 mg C. Next you might be experiencing restless sleep. I have read that this can really exhaust you without you really realizing it. Hope this clears up soon, Ritu!!!

Wow. I hope you feel better soon. I’m wondering if you are low on iron?? Try eating some red meat and see if that perks you up. 🙂

Hello Sis! Spidey*s quote IS NOT related to you. Take it easy. Never thought the medical crisis hit the UK too. Maybe you should ask Sally (smorgasbordinvitation). This motivating post from whom have to know is dedicated to you too: https://charlesfrenchonwordsreadingandwriting.wordpress.com/2019/10/11/writers-have-confidence/
Wish you all the best, Michael

Prioritize as best you can – you have an exhausting job that would wear anyone out, so adding the responsibilities of wife and mother – and BLOGGER! – to the mix is more than anyone can handle…

I think you are right to see the doctor to get checked out and, as others have said, try to rest completely during the half term break.Let yourself sleep as much as your body wants.

It could be a vitamin B or iron deficiency, Ritu, or it could simply be burnout. Maybe you should take a complete break over the half term and just veg.

In the first place, you need to feel alive again. I really hope you will have an appointment earlier. I just want you to make sure it is nothing serious. Just in case you lost weight too you need to get an appointment immediately. As you said, maybe it is only a vitamin deficiency but at least then you know.

I think, that you are doing the right, Ritu.
Isn’t it possible to get an appointment more fast with your doctor, if you tell them, it is now, you need help and not in a month or so?
Otherwise you may visit the emergency in the weekend. Then they should test your blood and so in same time.
    Take good care of yourself.
