“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Dr. Seuss
I just love this quote, Spidey! Thank you for popping it up on here today!
If I can’t do a lot of creating, which I am finding to be the case at the moment, with health issues etc., then reading is my next go-to!
And I honestly find that the more books I read, the more my world expands.
I am able to visit places I may never get to in reality, experience lives that I may not cross my path otherwise, escape in to fantasies that would otherwise always remain just that.
And the big one – I can dream that one day, my own book will end up taking readers on a similar magical ride one day too!
So, tell me, which book really helps you escape from reality?

Dr. Seuss is absolutely correct, I actually have a lot of trouble sleeping unless… I start reading and you can compare it with a kid that needs a teddy bear to hold on to? I fall asleep holding the book and wake up with the book in my hands, kind of weird I know.
Hope you get better, you can´t let the readers down, we need spidey.

I read a lot of non-fiction, so Paul Theroux’s terrific book “The Happy Isles Of Oceania” is the one: he takes a paddle canoe across the south pacific…many interesting adventures, and miles and miles and miles (thousands really) of open space….let you mind wander, you are free…

My teen years favourite, Ritu, was H. Rider Haggard’s ‘She’. Full of landscape, adventure and exotic romance. I was lost, lost, lost!

I love reading – it’s total escapism isn’t it. I read in a book yesterday the character describe a library as a place to transport you to a million different locations and times – loved it.

Yes, completely strange. It is so strange that no one knows how to handle everything once the Brexit begins which happens like a switch from one day to the other without having the law adjusted…

The Outlander series can take you away from reality. I just met Diana Gabaldon and she is writing another in the series, book 9!! I so love that quote. Take care of yourself, my dear.

Yes, her books were a staple in my childhood! I have a very old full set of her Noddy series, given to me as a 4 year old, when I was recovering from having my tonsils removed!

Good to know, that you have your books, even when not having energy for so much else, Ritu 🙂
I appreciate books about personal development, when I’m able to concentrate about reading more than shorter posts, which not always is the case.

It’s not always easy to carve reading time out. I’ve found, recently, that mon to Fri I read a few pages, if that, and I fall asleep, but my weekends, especially while recuperating, I can read for hours!
