Well done Ritu! I enjoyed that. ‘Just write’ – I couldn’t agree more 🙂

I hope the book is going well.

I forgot to mention the fact that we are similar in our writing processes and even stories, although your book is published I’m still working on the first draft. NaNoWriMo is what got me really going on my idea and thanks to it I made enough progress to recognize my project was REAL. I too am a plantser. Here’s to plantsing! Cheers to you & your book!

That’s so awesome! Great job, you sounded great. 🙂 Pat yourself on the back or better yet give yourself a hug. Smart call doing a 0.99 sale.

I loved this! Actually listened to quite a lot of the show which made me feel nice and close to my girls all in lock-down in England and you are a natural star. Take it from me, I know stuff – I have special powers 😉 Félicitations – this is just the start for you!! X

You were great! If you were nervous, it did not come through in your voice.
The interview was so enlightening. I hadn’t heard about your writing history, so that was particularly interesting. The fact that you started your book so many years ago and persevered through all of life’s happenings speaks to your commitment. Great job, Ritu! I also enjoyed learning about your process, as I think it is so fascinating how authors have to find what works for them. 50,000 words in a month are impressive! It goes without saying that we want quality over quantity, but getting something down should take priority.
I didn’t know you were a fellow teacher, and that was a pleasant surprise. I taught grades 2-6, and my wife was a preschool teacher and then director (3-5-year-olds). I get the picture that you worked with kids around that age, too. Like the kids, I’m a born hugger, so that must be impossible for them to understand. Schools in California are closed for the school year, although it varies considerably throughout the United States.
I’m curious how this interview came to fruition, Ritu? Did you reach out to them or vice-versa? Fantastic job!

      Hi Pete!
Thank you so much for listening in!
I was actually approached my the editor of the show, to be honest. It was a fantastic opportunity, so I took it! Initially I was meant to be going to the studio, where I was to meet one of my favourite authors, too. But as the original date approached, the virus had taken hold, so the interview was scheduled for a phone one. In actuality, it got postponed because there was so much virus talk that needed doing.
But I was contacted again to reschedule for yesterday.
Yea, my writing journey deserves its own story!
I am indeed a teacher and now my focus is in the foundation stage, or Early Years, which are 3-5 year olds.
It is tough at the moment.
We will still be closed after official Easter holidays, but working on a rota system so there will be some adults on hand to look after kids of keyworkers. The rest of the time, we will be setting work for children in project forms, I believe, especially for our younger children. Ways to learn and explore with their families in a way that won’t feel too teacher led, but fun, self learning.
My kids are older, at secondary school, and their school is using Google classrooms, to continue the learning.
Oh, and I am a born hugger too. Get it from my Pops. This time of non contact is even tougher because of that!!!
Please take care of yourself 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you for the lengthy response, Ritu, and sorry for the delayed comeback. I thought that I was already following you. (Now I am.) I’m at the point where I don’t want to add any more blogs to follow, but I have to make an exception for you. I suspect that you are like me—a lover of children, teaching, and education. It will always be about my students who I view as “my children.” Wishing you the best as I’m sure you are going through withdrawals right now at not being able to be with your students.

Thank you for the follow, Pete!
I know, I had to limit my following too as I was getting overwhelmed!
Yes my pupils are very definitely my children too! As I was driving back from grocery shopping this afternoon, I saw one of my babies with her mum, and I pulled the car up, at a distance, of course, to see how they were. Even after 3-4 weeks of not seeing them, they are growing. Her mum said they missed school and me. I repeated the same back to her, because I do!
This will be a year of lost academic education… I just hope parents are giving good life education instead…
Take care and stay safe xxx

Thanks for the link, Sis. I really would have missed something. Sorry, I missed the interview last night.
Congratulations, you did it professionally, Sis. Why were you afraid?

But: Now everyone knows: The children had to sleep longer during the holidays, so that you could write. You have also comforted your blog friends. 😁l
And: You are a pantster, and bookish, too. 😁😁😁😁
What now? Off to the Jimmy Fallon Show! Best wishes, and enjoy your Sunday!
Dont forget: There has to be a celebration of the family. Michael
