Thank you, Spidey for a thought provoking quote to ponder upon, this week.

And, thank YOU, Peeps, for bearing with our little break, last week, as we dealt with the craziness of moving house.

If you read my Chai post the day after, you’d have found out that we finally moved into our forever home, but the move wasn’t without a huge amount of angst. When are these things ever simple?

There were moments when we wondered whether we had done the right thing, to be honest, but when I think back over the last week, there have been so maany opportunities to learn new skills, that I have to count that as a bonus.

In dealing with an errant vendor, and an estate agent who isn’t as much help as he should be, on top of trying to keep a stressed Hubby Dearest calm, I have learned a lot.

And, to add to my new skills, I have become an expert at putting together ottoman beds (three, put together by myself and Lil Princess!), assembling a TV cabinet with a little assistance, locating switches for different services that weren’t working, how to use a dishwasher (never had one, before!), how NOT to fix a washing machine, and I have taught myself how to fix loose toilet seats on an enclosed toilet! (Thank you, YouTube!)

I’ve also attempted, but not mastered, the countryside driving that we will have to do a little more of, with some places having such narrow roads, that there isn’t even a pass point for another vehicle to pull over in!

All skills that will come in handy, at another point in my life, I am sure!

And, I’m sure there will be more to come. We have the internet being connected tomorrow, properly, so the next thing to learn, is how to us the smart home system that has been set up here, that controls the heating, water and lights!

Though we had some really rough days, I’ve come out, the other side, with plenty of new knowledge, and a house to be proud of!

    It is so exciting that you have moved. You will love having a dishwasher, they are wonderful. I love mine.

    Congratulations for becoming a moving expert, Sis! 🙂 I recently started brushing up on my skills, in plastering walls (traditionally with mortar and trowel) and laying electrical cables. Lol There’s still a lot of work to be done in our basement. 😉 But after you have arrived safely in your new home, there must now be a barbecue party. Best wishes, Michael

    Congratulations Ritu!! You’ve survived! You made it! Moving is so stressful, but there is such a relief when it’s all done! You seem to have taken the fight head on and Won! WooHoo for you!! So happy you have finally been able to nest in your Forever Home! Hubby can calm down now! 🤣🤣

    I too have been battling with a toilet seat, but it was installing a new one. I’m glad things are getting sorted out and you’ll soon get the hang of reading country lanes. It might not seem like it, but there’s always somewhere to pass.

    Moving is definitely not a smooth ride. I moved so many times in my life and once from one continent to another. Also, not only moving into a house but building your own holds a lot of challenges. But I think everyone is aware of that and in the end, it is all worth it. Glad you arrived happily and with a lot of new skills, sis!

    Wow, well done, you have been busy. I know it’s been hard, but I bet it feels very satisfying to get those jobs done. I managed a tricky technical email thing the other day that I was very proud of. Okay, it probably wasn’t actually that tricky, but it made me very cross for a while and then very happy, in the way that only technological challenges can, so I am counting it as something I have learned. Just don’t ask me to do it again…

    The joys of moving Sis, one of three most stressful things we can do, childbirth and sorting out a loved estate being the other two!
    Well there is a silver lining to everything, it sounds like you are on a great learning curve.💜💜💜

    Are you still having trouble with that vendor?
    That’s a lot of new tricks. Very useful too. I’m glad to hear that you’re attempting countryside driving.
    As for me, some errant rat cut off a wire in my car which is probably why the reverse sensor and the camera isn’t showing up in my display. So I’m relearning to back up into tight spots craning my neck to the fullest extent to see before it’s too late!
