Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 339 – Appreciated

Thanks, Spidey, for this lovely quote.

It really hit home, especially after my birthday, on Friday.

As it has done, over the last few years, my birthday fell on a school day, and the beginning of the academic year.

This year was no different.

I had a day filled with home visits to some of my new students, before I was able to go home.

But, what made my day so special, was how those around me, made me feel. My whole team were so wonderful, and generous. I was spoilt with gifts and cards. Even one of the parents we visited, gave me a card. Children and parents from school who saw me, and were aware, wished me a happy birthday.

Yes, I stayed a little later than I had planned, but I left school feeling so loved.

Then I got home, and the feeling was doubled, no tripled. More love, presents and happiness from them.

That day, I went to sleep filled with the feeling of being appreciated, more than I ever thought I was.

It truly will be a birthday that will stick in my heart forever.

    That’s so lovely Ritu I am so glad that everyone made you feel appreciated and loved.
    My special day was 21st August, when our boys arranged, organised and spoil hubby and I rotten on our Golden Anniversary, seeing family and friends together after so long was amazing.💜

    I understand how you were feeling. Before my hospital stay, I knew I had a lot of friends. After and during it, I realized how much those friends loved me.

    Not a birthday, bit this morning I was walking the dog on a beach in the cool air before breakfast. A couple of middle aged folks were coming towards us, and I noticed she had two beautiful cameras, one with a very long lens. I made a joke about the length of it (jealous) and I could see they were wrestling with my humour – they were German. I backed up the joke and explained, it,getting my comparatively small iPhon out of my pocket. Once understood, they rocked with laughter and told me, in broken English, about their photographic holiday. The speed of transition on their faces as they moved from potential ‘fear’ to delight was something I will never forget; and lesson in the importance of those few seconds of greeting someone new. ❤️

    Now that I am getting older I never really plan anything for my birthday. I usually think its just going to be like any other day. But my kids always come over and make me feel so special and so loved. 😁 It warms my heart.
