Chai And A Chat #162 #ChaiAndAChat

Well, hello there, Peeps! How are you? What a week… (I apologise if sny of what I type makes no sense, as I am writing this, tired, and with a bit of brain fog – might be related to that booster jab I had on Saturday…)

Are you ready with your drink?

  • If we were having chai I’d tell you that I feel done in. School is tough. I can’t even really explain it. But what with Covid Rates going up, and staff members dropping lile flies, it’s not an easy place to be, right now. We are supposed to be thinking about the nativity, but something tells me we won’t be able to do one, again, this year… I just can’t… But, in other Covid related news, I had my booster jab, at least!
  • If we were having chai I’d tell you that once the week finished, we ended it with an evening of putting the Christmas tree up! Yes, I know it’s not quite December, and usually, I refrain until at least the 1st, but this year, it feels like we all need that extra bit of happiness, so, here it is!
  • If we were having chai I’d say that I also managed to reach this milestone, this week… Seven years! Wow! You guys put up with me for that long!
  • If we were having chai I’d update you on Project House. The handyman was in, again. Yup, the jobs are never ending! This time we got a new bathroom heater installed, and some stubbord wall fixings removed, as well as curtain poles put up. Still a few bits to do, but we are getting there!
  • If we were having chai I’d have to mention that we got our first snow in the new house, too! While some parts of the country were getting battered by a storm, we awoke to a smattering of snow!
  • If we were having chai I’d say Pops is doing really well after his surgery, though I think he is already getting antsy about not being able to do everything yet! Poor Mum is being Florence Nightingale, and trying to stop him overdoing things. I really wish I was closer, so I could help! But, it’s good to hear Pops so much happier. Thank goodness.
  • If we were having chai I’d tell you that I spent the weekend reading a behemouth of a book (nearly 600 pages!) ready for a book tour, and it was a paperback, so I found a great solution to aching arms!
  • If we were having chai I’d share with you that Sonu Singh had his scan, and blood tests, and thankfully, all is clear! Phew! He’s still on reduced food rations, and is still not very pleased with us!

This week I feel like I don’t know what is going on… My mind feels a little foggy. However, I might have some interesting news to share, come the next update! There is a vastly understaffed school to attend, as well as meetings, and a little cricket, still, along with a beautician’s visit, too…

HI Ritu, I am also feeling exhausted. I worked until 9pm yesterday and the evening before and started at 7am this morning. I am finished! At least the project is done for now until 10 December when the next round starts. 10 December is my last day of work so it will be a long day but the last one for this year. My one sister’s whole family has covid as well as my cousin and his family. Eeek! I thought I’d had my share of illness this year. Stay strong and take deep breaths.

Ritu, I have never seen as many Christmas decorations around town as I did yesterday, and it was still November. It’s as if the world needed a big dose of happiness and decided to bring on Christmas a little early. You, too! I do hope the Covid cases slow down at your school. I don’t know how you can keep up what you’re doing at work…

Good to hear that your Pops is recovering well after his surgery. And it’s never easy being the nurse! So glad lovely Sonu Singh is doing well too. Sorry school continues to be very hard work. The run up to Christmas is always a bit of a whirlwind at primary schools, the teachers always make it so fun and special. I am sure you are very very much appreciated.

Sending big and healing hugs to dear Pops. That’s awesome that your tree is up already. I think ours will be set up before the 24th too, although my daughter doesn’t like it. We always put it up at the night from the 23rd to the 24th. When they woke up, the tree was there. She still says, what magical moments those were and how they all looked forward to lying beneath that tree and gazing at it in the morning. That was the first part of the celebration on that day, always. Sorry, rambling around here… lol

Oh, it seems i had missed the information about your Pop’s surgery. I am so happy to hear it gone well. Best wishes!!!! A wonderful Christmas tree, but there is something missing. You know? 😉 Or has Sonu got a own tree, for getting enjoyed by it? Lol Now, after you have got your booster shot, you will change to Superwoman, and can do the work of three, Sis! 😉 By the way, you have a wonderful yard. As i mentioned some months before, there is enough place for a beautiful pool. Lets dig! :-)) Best wishes, Michael

I’m glad to hear Pops and Mr. Sonu are doing well. Last year the holidays were practically shutdown. Have a good week, Sister 🙏🏽💜

Thrilled to hear there is good news for your Pops and that poor starving kitty you are holding against his will. Our one cat does the same thing, dear me, you would think we NEVER feed him. Alas, his girth gives him away.
