To pic or not to pic..

I know this is a pretty personal one, but what is your opinion…?
There are so many stories which would be enhanced by pictures of various events in my family’s life, but I am scared to post them, for fear of the whole privacy issue.
Hubby Dearest requested that I don’t put pictures of the kids on here, or him, as he hates social media with a passion, but he encourages me to write.
However, there are days when I’d love to post a pic of the Lil Princess, so you can see what a madam she really is. And Lil Man in all his lil glory, and of course, pics of me n me old man, so you know who I am talking about…
But I’m just scared. Should I be?
My brother and his wife have made an active decision not to post any shots of my nephew anywhere, bar one, announcing his birth, and strict instructions have been given to all family and friends to not post them either.
My monkeys are all over my personal Facebook page, but it’s settings are private, so they aren’t theoretically on public view..(though we all know that can change with a mere share of a picture…)
What do you think?

But I Smile Anyway...

I can say me with my paranoia I wouldn’t post it up… In the end it’s your comfort and how you feel… Your children sound like they are amazing and beautiful. You can always let our imagination run when you describe them 😉

Hopefully you are able to decide what is best for you.

I show my son’s face, in fact, he even has his own blog about his every day shenanigans. But what I don’t do, it tell of my exact location. For example, when I’m in the UK, I will say I am in London. London is a big area! when I’m in the US, I will say I’m in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is massive! But I do understand your dilemma.

This is a really tough one. i started off being totally anonymous with this blog, not even giving my first name. However I have now decided to use my real Facebook account to share my blogs and therefore have ‘blown my cover’! I do not name my daughter on here though or have any pics of her. My Facebook friends have seen pics of us all though.

I thought long and hard about this too and made the decision to show their faces. I looked at all the ‘big’ blogs that I followed. Of bloggers I had been following a long time and most of them show their kids faces. I’m very mindful not to give too much away about where I live, but I also know I can be found quite easily if someone was dedicated enough to trawl through the information on my blog. The clincher for me was that my blog is a vault of memories, for my girls into the future and given this purpose, it made sense to include them in it. If it ever grows to be a huge blog, perhaps I will change my view, but for now, I’m ok with the decision I’ve made. It’s a tough one though, I certainly agree!

I always contemplate the same thing. I’m like Hubby Dearest in that I don’t want to be on social media. Like you said though, some things are better with pictures. I) think our audience is mature enough to handle pictures of us. It’s a risk some choose to take and others, not so much.
