For all you photographer parents…
My husband doesn’t really like Facebook. Nor does he like any other social network. He thinks too much information get shared which makes it too easy for scumbags to take advantage of you. And I agree with him. What I struggled agreeing with him for a long time was his “no posting pictures policy”.
I admit, he got me to the point where I started asking other parents if it’s okay to take pictures of a team event with my children in, of my kids playing with them on a playground. They usually looked at me and didn’t understand why someone would ask at all. I always promised them not to share the pictures with their children in online. Which they thought was weird too, in most cases.
After all everyone does it, right? Everyone shares pictures on social networks. And why should you hide your life, your stunning pictures…

I can see why putting certain information and photos up isn’t safe. Once things are out there in cyber space, anybody can see find, see it and do what they wish. Living in the future is pretty cool but it’s come with a price. I put my name on my photos before I post them so someone will have to do some work if they wanted to steal them. My kids are adults now so I don’t have that worry. I also do my best to not say where I’m going, where I live etc. Too many crazies out there

The whole thing is very scary I have been nuts with it myself in social settings and it got testy once,this world we live in is not what it use to be and it sucksssssssssss

Yup, I must admit I’ve put them on Facebook, but much less nowadays, and alongside hubby, we made the decision that I not use their names or pictures on my blog, it’s sad, but we really don’t know what people are like nowadays. I’ve learned to be careful with location settings too…
