Am sat here at the barber shop…
No, not for me, obviously!😜
But it’s time for Lil Man’s termly haircut, and boy did I need to do some convincing!
He looks like the fifth Beatle at the moment, and tells me that the mop is great in winter, it keeps his head warm!
But not commenting on the lengthy fringe which inhibits his sight!
As he flicks his head to move said fringe, I wonder, will he cause himself a neck injury!?
Still, he’s sat in the chair, on the booster seat… Hopefully he’ll leave with a smile… Though one wrong snip and I’ll have nuclear meltdown on my hands!
Please Mr Barber, treat his precious hair with care!!!

Great that it worked out in the end! I was lucky to avoid that whole trauma. When I was young, my roommate was a hair dresser and taught me how to cut hair. I have cut my daughter’s hair since the beginning. However now that she’s 14 she goes to the salon with Mummy. My scissors have been retired. (as he starts eyeing Dust Bunny) 😉

Strange how this things happen. I learned for the fun of it, at the time, and it ended up saving me 12 years of haircuts. 🙂

My dad tried to do my brothers first haircut… Bodged it so bad… He never tried again!

So do I, however my wife and daughter had other ideas. It must be a guy thing. I have always been enamored with long hair on a women. Then practicality set in and the dreaded phase, “I have to wash my hair” meant forget the bathroom for several hours and if you are going out, forget being on time. 😉

Pops would say to me, ‘I love your long hair, don’t cut it. When you get mattied, do what you want!’ Thing is I married a man with the same thinking lol! So when I do get it cut, we have a short time of moodiness before normality hits again! And now I see the conversations Pops n I had all those years ago, being mirrored with Hubby Dearest and Lil Princess!!
I managed to get hers trimmed at least!!

Both my wife and daughter like to keep it shoulder length. This is especially important during the summer as they complain (whine) about “Sweaty neck”. I was engaged to a beautiful woman who’s hair went to her knees. I would periodically trim the spit ends for her.
It didn’t work out in the end, but have fond memories of being late for everything. 😉

Lol my nephew was exactly the same. People thought he was a girl but after bribery of sweets and magazines he finally discovered a face under there again. His mother however said it was child abuse and threatened to withdraw contact…..good job dad was the one that sent me with him eh? And besides he loved his new style 🙂
