I sit down with colored toothpicks, rounded ones, and do such little “nerd tricks” with my Nieces and Grands, surprising how much they learn by “playing” Ty for sharing.

    6 + 1 = 7 or 8 – 1 = 7 or – 0 + 1 = 1 or 8 – 7 = 1. There may be more, but that’s enough…. (minus zero? yes, you can write that 😉 )

Oh, I should say it I think: take one from the plus that it becomes a minus and put it on top of the 1: 8 – 7 = 1

Take out the centre of the 8, thus making it a zero.
