Walking With Grandma, on a Wednesday

wpid-fb_img_1438096430734.jpgWe are off to my parents for a couple of days… and my children will indeed, enjoy the walking with Grandma, and Grandpa too!

The relationship a child and grandparent has is so precious, and I am so glad my children are blessed with all 4 of their grandparents, to create this bond. This was what I really missed, growing up, and my one grandma, who was alive until   my early 20’s, was in a different country, so though the love was there, the bond was not the same, as if you were close by.

if you have grandparents, give them a call, a hug, a kiss, and treasure them. Their value in your live is priceless….

Very true words, Ritu. Since the parents of my mom’s side got divorced and remarried I even had 6 parties of grandparents. I always had the stronger bond with her parents than with my father’s. His mom was more distanced and controlling. I adored my grandpa but he died much too early with 62 when I was 19. He was one of my soul mates and a wonderful friend and companion. Great your kids have them all.

So true grand parents are the best Ritu. But then I’m slightly biased because I am one☺

I grew up without any grandmas.. Until ten years old, when my dad’s mother came from Jamaica! My mum’s mother died when she was a child.. I only have stories. I used to be angry at people who complained about their grandparents.. I’ve felt the lack of wise elderly advice and I would say that grandparents are invaluable! In this country though, grandparents are not seen as important and that link is becoming less and less! They know their friends houses etc better than their grandparents! Shame!
