Dear @realdonaldtrump,
My name is Marwa, and I am a Muslim.
I heard you wanted us the start wearing ID badges, so I decided to choose one for myself.
I am not easily identifiable as a

The one that taught me that killing one innocent life is equivalent to killing humanity.
I heard you want to track us as well.
Great!
You can come with me on my Cancer Awareness walks at the local middle school, or you can follow me to work where it’s my job to create happiness.

Hi Marwa, my name is Charly and I´m a christian. So you are a Muslim but you are not a terrorist right? So nice meeting you then. Islam can represent peace but as of right now it seems there´s quite a problem with that religion around the world so for now lets be careful as to who we let into our countries as well as check on more than others. Is it unpleasant and uncomfortable for you, I´m sure and I´m sorry but is it necessary for the rest of us to be safe? That is also true. If there is no problem in the mosque with radicalisation then good and we´ll be out of there eating with you those sandwitches and drinking tequila with a mexican and also eating sushi with an asian.

The danger is though Charly, that all are being tarred with the same brush… When such a minority is the problem, but the majority are suffering ..

I know, and it sucks. But although I don´t see it that way, one of my best friends since I was a kid is a Marrocan and a Muslim. He told me the other day in the car “this is not good for us”. But I do understand the other side, that a great deal of people do want to have a more scrutinising vetting process as to who comes in from those countries (mostly if not all muslim) because they do understand that a few bad apples can do a lot of harm. Real tragedy. So I can understand that position, and I don´t think in my humble opinion that in the U.S there is this great mass descrimination against Muslims, but they obviously do want to check a lot the backgrounds of Muslim refugees coming in, plus 57% of the U.S population actually don´t even want to take the chance that a few of the terrorist amongst the refugees will enter their country so they don´t want to take in the refugees, which I can also understand that position.
They don´t want to take the chance of another September 11.
There are two sides to everything, and I can understand both.
My position would be that you do have to survey mosques and if you don´t see anything bad going on then good. And the refugees, well take them in for now but you do have to do an extensive background check which is nearly impossible. So I really would not take the chance, I know it´s just a few bad apples but if they slip in, they can destroy thousands of life´s. If I was in charge of a country and the protection of the citizens even though is not fair for most of the others I would not take the chance to let them in. Unfortunately. But better be safe than sorry.

No mass discrimination? There’s Trump’s approval for a creation of a list. What about Carlson’s view that there should be a religious test to exclude? What about the towns and neighborhoods prohibiting new mosques being built? What about the threats and the vandalism? What about your own view that certain houses of worship should be monitored?
Judging any individual (especially those of a protected class) for the actions of another individual is patently un-American. It’s ironic that the conservatives flocking to Trump are often the very same strict Constitutionalists that forget why America was founded in the first place. Those framers were so mindful of that persecution, of the lists, of the religious tests, of all the fear mongering of a minority believing in God just a little differently that they built that protection in the very first right in our founding document.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
The terrorists are terrorists, and unfortunately, there are bad individuals in every group, but if you allow a few terrible individuals to break apart the very fabric of American freedom, you have let the terrorists win. There are other ways to protect this country than to create lists, hype phobia, and discriminate against a large portion of American citizens.

I love my Muslim friends and fellow bloggers. They help me see the world in a different way. While in college I was friends with several who lived in my dorm. I think the phobia they face is unfair and unkind. Yes there are a few bad apples in the bunch like there are people of all faiths and walks of life. I appreciate their culture and commitment to the service of mankind.

Exactly Tony. My best friend is Muslim and I used to get comments from other non Muslim friends as to why I would want to be friends with her, because of her religion… Sorry, that’s not why we were friends…Human first, and that’s what I saw.

Wonderful, sis! Thank you for sharing this! Islam is a peaceful religion. It is always what the individual make of it and how they abuse it…. like the Catholics…

Great post. It’s unfortunate many people who come from an ethnicity and/or religion who were once punished for who they were forget those lessons so easily.
