“Now, that’s a carrot and a half!” Nina exclaimed, as she checked out her booty from the allotment this week. Nothing genetically modified about that one! In fact, it would have never made it to a kitchen, let alone her plate, had it been in one of the fields of the huge supermarket chains. Definitely not a politically correct carrot, not the required 6 inches long, or what ever the job description stated for carrot vacancies nowadays.
But it was her carrot, lovingly planted, and watered, and cared for. And oooh it would help to make a great soup!
