Five Minutes
Nothing…
All she could hear was nothing…
Well, muted sounds from outside, but other than that…
Nothing…
It was such a calming feeling, so good to feel at such peace, after the last few months. It had been such a hectic time.
To her it felt like she had not one moment to herself. Everyone wanted a piece of her. She was spent. Empty. Exhausted. Living for the others, not for herself.
It would be so easy, to lay like this, to slip down, to allow this peace to fully encompass her…
She lowered herself, just a little more, to see what it felt like, allowing the water from the bath tub to cover her eyes, her mouth, her nose.
After a moment, she sat bolt upright, catching her breath! What was she doing?
She tuned her ears again, she could hear the babble that was normal on the other side of the door, the children arguing, the baby crying, and her husband trying to be peacekeeper, but failing miserably.
Oh well, she guessed 5 minutes peace was more than she had had for a long time, and beggars can’t be choosers. She grabbed her towel, quickly dried herself, and wrapping her bathrobe around her, she opened the door.
A little piece of Flash Fiction inspired by Kruti’s Challenge!

I know that feeling 😉 I hope I find some time during the next 2 weeks. I really want to participate too. But at the moment it feels a little like stress… I need a time out… isn’t that crazy?

I find that my time writing, even in short bursts, is my time out!

That is true! I love writing…. I am sure that during the next weeks I will write a lot of drafts… lol! And I will post something anyway… just without the regular things which makes it more relaxed. 😃

I have found that since I relaxed on when I post, I still am active, but I enjoy it more… It’s not like a chore, but a joy!

I know what you mean, sis! To me it is like a joyful chore… in a complete positive way, which I see as part of my purpose. What brings me to my limits is more that I want so much showing others my appreciation in reading all of their posts and also leave comments, because I really appreciate them and their work and I love it. But recently I can’t get it all done anymore and leaving comments and replying to replies also challenges me regarding the time factor. (I am sure you know that…lol) That is why I stop posting for a bit and hope that I have more time for others 🙂

Omg this is so good 🙂 When i played this in meet up group ad a girl picked up this image and she wrote a story on suicide. This is altogether a different angle and its beautiful 🙂 I myself picked the picture with two elderly ladies and wrote a story on love that i will soon share 🙂

When I saw this pic, the first thing I thought of was the lack of sound. Great post, Ritu. I get it. ☺

Thank you Van! I was saying to Judy, earlier, that it would have been easy to go a bit morbid with the photo, and take it to a different level, but I wanted to have a little lightness to it too! It is a reality I can totally relate to (but not the baby bit! Mine are just the older ones arguing all the time!)

Thanks! It would have been easy to go morbid with the photo I chose, but I decided no, I shall try and put a lighter spin on it!
