So there were some glorious views in Helsinki while we were there, last week, but something else struck me as ‘glorious’. The colour of these Scarlet Ibises…

And the colours on the tail feathers of this Peacock…

The vibrant colours
Of these birds of a feather

The Peacock is terrific! I have a neighbor that has two, one of them is solid white. They kind of freak me out in the mornings when it ‘s still dim light, because they hang out in trees and those long tails hang down. It looks very odd in that light and silhouetted against the morning sky.

And they caw all night too! We live nearly a mile from them, but we can hear when we have the windows open. People who come out and don’t realize it’s just a peacock always say, “Wtf was that?!?”, when they first hear ’em. 😃

Oh yes they are LOUD!
My Pops was calling one, imitating their cry and it starting ‘chatting’ back to him, and we were only a few feet away! !!

I feel bad for the poor guy across the road. They hang out on the roof of his house too. I don’t see how he sleeps through it. 😃
