Wing-Woman
“I have to wear those?”
Melissa nodded.
“No, really. Me? Wearing those death traps?”
Eliza gingerly picked up one of the sparkly high heeled stilettos and dangled it in front of her eyes. A pointed toe that was sure to pinch at her feet. And the heel. Dear God, the heel. Six inches of danger.
She cleared her throat. “Mel, do you want to walk into the club with style, or be shoved into Dan’s arms unceremoniously, as your hapless wing-woman ends up tripping, and taking you with her?”
“Well, at least he’ll notice me, that way,” Melissa smirked.

LOL! I can see this happening in real life. Back in my day (LOL) it was platform shoes… I remember a few episodes where I fell off my shoes. Equally as funny as your story, Sis. ❤

I wore platforms in the 90s when there was a resurgence of the style, and I actually did fall down the stairs of a club with them on. Actually, a guy on the steps tripped me up on purpose, so I could ‘fall into’ the arms of his mate, conveniently standing at the bottom of the staircase!
That was a chat up line and a half, but I scurried off as fast as I could embarrassed, and a bit grossed out, because the guy was so slimy!

Ritu, my story is short. They may make a woman’s legs look sexy, but they had to have been invented by a man because of the torture of wearing of them. My wife and I marvel at these five inch stilettos and how anyone can walk in them, especially going down stairs. Keith

Ritu, when my wife worked downtown, she used to wear pumps, which shoved her toes into a point. I endeared myself greatly with the occasional foot massage, but it took five years for her feet to lose the corns from that pressure. Stilettos are a whole new realm of torture. Keith
