I completely agree that punctuation is important, but… That ‘funny little anecdote’ annoys and even angers me every time I see it. (I would not have been able to punctuate that sentence ‘correctly,’ because I can see no way to make those words, in that order, say anything I accept as true, no matter what punctuation is used.)

People often underestimate the power of punctuation. They just don’t realize how a single (or lack of) punctuation can greatly change the meaning and connotation of a sentence…
