KL’s #WritePhoto prompt, this week:
Gingerly, I ease myself forward, trying my hardest not to startle it.
There it stood, the Lesser Spotted Not So Woolly Mammoth.
And, considering dinosaurs were meant to be extinct, it should haave been a Never Spotted one.
I pull out my phone to take some photos. I needed evidence. No one would believe that this sighting was real, otherwise.
Maybe I should Insta-live it, or live stream on Facebook?
I could become viral, for discovering that dinosaurs weren’t actually extinct!
Fiddling with my phone, I get the relevant app up, and try to focus it… on nothing.
I search everywhere, frantically, but it’s nowhere to be seen.
Darn it!
At least I have my photos.
Ah, wait.
Stupid social media strikes again.
I was so tied up with setting up my Live, that I didn’t actually click a photo!
Kicking myself, I wonder when these camera phones became so much more. It was far simpler when a mobile was just a phone and camera.
Echoes of a conversation between me and my dino aged father come to mind. He always says it was far simpler when a phone was just a phone…

There’s probably an app for travelling back in time!

I have two camera’s on my new phone. When I take a video it records in two directions which is a disaster. I don’t know how to change it yet …

“When the phones were tied to a wire, people were free!”
But being focused on taking pictures can be the same with a camera. So, phone or not that makes no difference… lol

It is them same with television. It is of no use to not allow the kids to watch but teach them how to use it reasonably… lol

It’s funny how we fiddle around with our phone trying to get the camera app up when something captures our attention.

I was telling someone the other day that, if these iPhones had been around when I was growing up in the same way, I’d have MILLIONS of photos of everyday life…they’d overwhelm me! Sorry you missed the shot of the Dino!

Haha brilliant, Ritu. I think I am in agreement with the father, I’m yet to master the art of insta or live on Facebook. I do love the camera function on my phone though and before the days of such things did have a digital camera in my bag regularly, you never know when something needs capturing 😉
Thank you so much for joining in the

Thank you, KL for the entertaining prompt!
It’s funny. A phone was a phone. Then a phone was nothing without a camera.
And now, it’s pretty much everything, from your organiser, to your entertainment. Your work companion, your social life. And sometimes, just sometimes, you may just use it as a phone!
My Pops hated the transition from Old school handsets to smartphones.
Now, he has a iPhone, and is king of Whatsapp! 🤣
