Colleen’s tanka challenge, as always includes the premise that only synonyms for the prompt words must be used…
This week, the words were;
(Yup I used the English spelling for colour!)
Etheree #2 for me, and yes, I went a little macabre, thinking of death…

Gone
No more
Complexion
Takes on a hue
Saved for the lifeless
An eerie calm settles
No pain for you anymore
Yet for those of us left behind
The ones who’ll never see you again
The suffering has only just begun

This week, the words were;
It’s the first of the month so Colleen has given us free rein!
As it is October, I went all ghoulish! And attempted my first Etheree!

Ghosts
Eerie
Roaming free
Spooky beings
Frightening others
Unintentionally
Finding their place in this world
Only looking for acceptance
Wanting to live alongside us all
Near those loved ones they have left behind them

Though summer attempts to stay
Nature has its way
Inevitable changes
As the world keeps on turning

Vigour, not Vigor!

Your eyes seek my eyes
Every heartbeat matches mine
Your touch passion filled
The intensity of your love
Shows a strength no one can beat

Today, it goes without saying, the verse needs to be a tribute to the happenings of 17 years ago in New York…

One man’s decision
Ended the lives of many
And nearly killed faith
Buildings crumbled, so did lives
But hope is still alive yet
