#Tanka Tuesday On A Thursday – Finding Myself #Etheree

It’s Colleen’s syllabic poetry challenge!

Search & Lost

Set
Adrift
In my thoughts
Hunting wildly
Looking for the truth
The answers to my 'Whys'
Questions keep bombarding me
Will I find what I'm looking for?
Possibly not, but really, I know
The solution to all my woes, is me

#Tanka Tuesday (On a Thursday) #Poetry CHhallenge NO. 220, #Poetschoice #Etheree – In Memorandum

Colleen’s Syllabic poetry challenge this week is Poet’s Choice:

Souls
Traverse
From body
To higher plains
Today you leave us
I can feel you, above
As you begin your journey
Fly high, my darling Mamaji
As you leave, you take a piece of me
You may be gone, but never forgotten

This morning, at 5am, UK time, I will be attending the funeral of my beloved uncle, my Mamaji. This is dedicated to him. πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’œ

Sue’s #WritePhoto prompt:

Wings
Spread wide
Soaring high
Above all else
Above suppression
Above small mindedness
Above the criticism
Free from other's expectations
No shackles able to hold me back
Gliding at my own pace towards success

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 179, #ThemePrompt #etheree

We have a quote as our syllabic poetry prompt this week, thanks to Merril D. Smith!

β€œHow far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world.”

William Shakespeare,Β The Merchant of Venice
Hope
Can be
Infinite
If you let it
When you shine your light
You become a beacon
Others will flock towards you
And then ignite lights of their own
Just a little spark of your own hope
Can be a catalyst for hope worldwide

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Etheree #Poetry Challenge No. 162, #ThemePrompt The Circle Of Life

It’s #TankaTuesday, everyone!

It’s the fourth week of the month, which means I’ll pick a theme for you to write about for this month. On the Monday before the next challenge, I’ll select someone to choose next month’s theme.

This month’s theme is:

β€œThe Circle of Life”

Life
Begins
With nothing
Just a body
But accumulates
Many things over time
Health, wealth, knowledge, family
With time, it all disappears
And what's left? A husk. Just a body
So, as it begins, life ends with nothing.
