Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 178 #Cinquain #PhotoPrompt – Eye

Colleen’s Syllabic Poetry Challenge today:

We are using a photo prompt by Vashti Q. Vega.

Watching
Seeing, knowing
Scaled predator hunts
Patient, quiet, deadly, hungry
Waiting

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 177 #SynonymsOnly – Transition & Harmony

Colleen’s Weekly Syllabic Poetry Challenge with two prompt words this week – but remember, you can’t use the words, just synonyms!

Transition & Harmony

Too many changes
An interruption of peace
As the world digests
Senseless advice has been given
Are we just lambs to slaughter?

I think that this #CoronaVirus is really getting to me!

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 165 #PhotoPrompt – Moon

Well, guess who had the honour of choosing this month’s prompt photo?

Me, that’s who! And I took it myself, as well!

Remember, it’s syllabic poetry that Colleen wants from us!

So, here’s the photo.

Two senryu for you you, 5/7/5, 3/5/3 and 2/3/2

I smile at the moon
Peering through the eerie clouds
Light, in my darkness

Ritu 2020

Moon appears
Through the eerie clouds
My night light

Ritu 2020

Moonbeams
through the clouds
my light

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 164 #SynonymsOnly #Senryu

It’s Tuesday, and that means Colleen’s Tanka Challenge! Of course, just providing a couple of words would be far too simple, so we have two words, yes, but we can’t use them! Only synonyms allowed!

Love & Harmony

Our souls, synchronised
Our hearts, ready for romance
Our fingers, entwined

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 163, #Poet’sChoice Success #Gogyohka

Colleen’s Weekly Syllabic poetry Challenge!

It’s the first of the month and you know what that means! Poets, choose your own syllabic poetry form, theme, words, images, etc. It’s up to you!

I am going to attempt a Gogyohka today. This is a five line poem, with no syllabic count, so to speak, but each of the lines must be a phrase able to be said in a breath. The theme is unrestricted.
The nerves are flowing
Butterflies fluttering
Dreams fulfilled within a few days
Will it be a success?
Only time will tell
