Colleen's 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 164 #SynonymsOnly #Senryu

It’s Tuesday, and that means Colleen’s Tanka Challenge! Of course, just providing a couple of words would be far too simple, so we have two words, yes, but we can’t use them! Only synonyms allowed!

Love & Harmony

Our souls, synchronised
Our hearts, ready for romance
Our fingers, entwined

Colleen's 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 163, #Poet'sChoice Success #Gogyohka

Colleen’s Weekly Syllabic poetry Challenge!

It’s the first of the month and you know what that means! Poets, choose your own syllabic poetry form, theme, words, images, etc. It’s up to you!

I am going to attempt a Gogyohka today. This is a five line poem, with no syllabic count, so to speak, but each of the lines must be a phrase able to be said in a breath. The theme is unrestricted.
The nerves are flowing
Butterflies fluttering
Dreams fulfilled within a few days
Will it be a success?
Only time will tell

Colleen's 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Etheree #Poetry Challenge No. 162, #ThemePrompt The Circle Of Life

It’s #TankaTuesday, everyone!

It’s the fourth week of the month, which means I’ll pick a theme for you to write about for this month. On the Monday before the next challenge, I’ll select someone to choose next month’s theme.

This month’s theme is:

“The Circle of Life”

Life
Begins
With nothing
Just a body
But accumulates
Many things over time
Health, wealth, knowledge, family
With time, it all disappears
And what's left? A husk. Just a body
So, as it begins, life ends with nothing.

Colleen's 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Etheree #Haiku #Poetry Challenge No. 161 #PhotoPrompt – Henna

This week, Colleen has a photo prompt, chosen by my blog sis, Willow!

Stains
Hennaed
Signalling
Celebration
The deeper the stain
The stronger the love of
Mother-in-law to-be
His name tattooed on her hand
A challenge, to find it, himself
A game to prove his patience and love
Once found, their true exploration begins

Ritu 2020

Henna patterns stain
The hands of the bride-to-be
Time for married bliss

Henna stains
The hands of the bride
Married bliss

Henna
A bride's hands
Married

Colleen’s Prompt

COLLEEN’S 2019 WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY on a Thursday #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 145 #PHOTOPROMPT

Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Prompt:

It’s mid month, so we have a photo prompt this week.

A
World where
The ground just
Disappeared
Only safe creatures
Were the birds and the fish
Did you four legged creatures
Find help on Noah's wooden ark?
He promised to save two of each one
It rained for forty days and forty nights
Slowly clouds receded, the sun shone
Water began to go away
Lone dove bore an olive branch
The tops of trees were seen
The world was rid of
Evil people
At least for
A few
Years
