Sue’s #WritePhoto Prompt this week:
I thought I’d continue the adventures of Barbie and Ken!
The boat rocked.
“Babe! My clothes are getting wet! Can you stop that stupid splashing?!” Barbie let out a huge sigh.
Ken tried to wipe the beads of sweat from his forehead with the cloth his tee-shirt covering his shoulder. ” I’m trying, babe, but I gotta move this thing somehow!” He continued to row along the quiet stretch of river.
She sighed again. “And anyway, this isn’t a yacht! I was expecting a holiday on the French Riviera, with me laying on the deck of a huge boat, sunning myself as waiters brought me champagne on tap…”
“Hold on babe, you said you wanted to sun yourself on a boat, with bubbles, go swimming in the warm water – Look, the sun is out, we’re on a boat, well, in a canoe, and I got you a mini bottle of your favourite Prosecco!”
Ken looked ahead and noticed a low bridge they were approaching. “Duck!”
He bent down so they could glide under, just as Barbie sat up to look around. “Where?”
Thump – Splash!
“Babe! For God’s sake get me out of this yucky water, instead of sitting there watching me!” Barbie flailed around in the water, her head covered in weeds from the river.
“Oh! Sorry babe!” Ken leaned forward and reached an oar to her. ” I thought you’d gone for a swim… You did say you wanted to go swimming…”
