Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 179, #ThemePrompt #etheree

We have a quote as our syllabic poetry prompt this week, thanks to Merril D. Smith!

“How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world.”

William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice
Can be
If you let it
When you shine your light
You become a beacon
Others will flock towards you
And then ignite lights of their own
Just a little spark of your own hope
Can be a catalyst for hope worldwide

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 177 #SynonymsOnly – Transition & Harmony

Colleen’s Weekly Syllabic Poetry Challenge with two prompt words this week – but remember, you can’t use the words, just synonyms!

Transition & Harmony

Too many changes
An interruption of peace
As the world digests
Senseless advice has been given
Are we just lambs to slaughter?

I think that this #CoronaVirus is really getting to me!

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 176, #Poet’sChoice

Colleen’s syllabic Poetry challenge this week is #PoetsChoice as it is the first Tuesday of the month!

The sun shines
Blossoms blooming
The days grow longer
Mornings brighter
Evenings stretch

Sorry, Colleen, I’m not sure what form I used here… maybe invented my own!

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 175, #ThemePrompt The Day After

Colleen’s Tanka Challenge, this week, is a theme based one and the theme has been set by Elizabeth, from Tea and Paper.

The Day After

Twas the day after
That wonderful night before
The night I met you
Just imagine, one meeting
It changed my life completely

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 174 #PhotoPrompt – Wistful

Colleen’s Weekly Syllabic challenge!

This week is a photo prompt that has been selected by Jude, from Tales Told Different.

Eyes gaze, wistfully
Recalling moments of joy
That time is gone, now...

Wistful gaze
Happy memories
All gone now

Ritu 2020

In this photo I saw a lover looking wistful, then, upon looking further, I could see a mound of earth… what is it? Is it a burial place, a shallow grave?
