#TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 209, #POET’SCHOICE #Senryu

Colleen’s Syllabic Poetry challenge this week is free choice, as in poets choice of syllabic form poetry.

Need my morning tea
To flush away the cobwebs
Refreshingly good

#Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge NO. 209, Last Challenge Of 2020 – Hope #Senryu

It’s the last one of this interesting year… 2020…

For the LAST poetry challenge of 2020, I want you to write a poem about hope, using your favorite poetry form (it doesn’t have to be syllabic). Please make these poems inspirational to others.

Hope

We all need that hope
The world needs us to believe
Things will get better

I find it so hard to confirm a specific style of poetry that is my favourite, I love rhyming couplets, and limericks, but equally, the challenge of various syllabic poetic forms is just as satisfying.

This week, I chose a Senryu. I like both Senryu and Haiku, because of how much you can convey in such few syllables.

I hope you enjoy my ramblings, too! (See what I did there, hope?)

Here’s to plenty more poetic adventures in the new year, Peeps!

#TankaTuesday #Poetry Challenge NO. 208, #ThemePrompt Holiday Traditions #Cinquain

Colleen’s Tuesday Syllabic poetry prompt:

Holiday Traditions

I consider all of you to be part of my poetic family, so let’s create a huge collaborative garland cinquain (2/4/6/8/2) sequence of poetry that connects to each other like a garland of poetry wrapped around a holiday tree.

Here’s my Cinquain, Colleen!

 Christmas
 Family time
 Festive sharing of love
 Presents given, food all eaten
 Christmas

#TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 206 #SYNONYMSONLY Meander & Drift

Colleen’s Syllabic Poetry Challenge:

Prompt words, but remember, we need to use synonyms, not the actual words!

mingle and drift

Snowflakes meander
From the sky, to the cold ground
Blending together
Creating icy blankets
To warm Mother Nature's spoils
