Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Etheree #Haiku #Poetry Challenge No. 161 #PhotoPrompt – Henna

This week, Colleen has a photo prompt, chosen by my blog sis, Willow!

Stains
Hennaed
Signalling
Celebration
The deeper the stain
The stronger the love of
Mother-in-law to-be
His name tattooed on her hand
A challenge, to find it, himself
A game to prove his patience and love
Once found, their true exploration begins

Henna patterns stain
The hands of the bride-to-be
Time for married bliss

Henna stains
The hands of the bride
Married bliss

Henna
A bride's hands
Married

Colleen’s Prompt

Frozen #writephoto

Sue’s #WritePhoto prompt:

Ice
Cracking
A slow thaw
Of frozen streams
As the sun rises
Heralding the weather
The world has been waiting for
Ready to awaken today
A new day filled with new beginnings
It feels like anything is possible

A
Message
Delivered
In a bottle
By nature's postman
Who's it for? Who's it from?
A cry for help? Love letter?
How long has this note been floating
On the surface of the ocean deep?
Time to open and reveal the secret

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday On A Thursday #Poetry Challenge No. 139 #Poet’sChoice

It’s Colleen’s Tanka Challenge! Of course, just providing a couple of words would be far too simple, so we have two words, yes, but we can’t use them! Only synonyms allowed! Except it’s the first challenge of the month so Colleen allows poets to choose their own two words to use in a syllabic poem.

Future & Hope Own choice!

I chose to write an Etheree using Write & Story as they are apt for my personal challenge this month, to edit my story to as perfect as I can! #RiNoEdMo

Create worlds
Use colourful
Imagination
To transport your reader
To a place they've never been
Just scribe a story so intense
The pages almost turn by themselves
Pulling readers deeper into your tale

Aflame #writephoto

Sue’s #WritePhoto prompt this week:

It
Is not
Only the
Sky that's aflame
Right now the whole place
Feels like it it burning
A heat that's unbearable
Making us feel like we're melting
We always ask rain to disappear
Right now I think we'd welcome a downpour!
