Five Minutes

Nothing…

All she could hear was nothing…

Well, muted sounds from outside, but other than that…

Nothing…

It was such a calming feeling, so good to feel at such peace, after the last few months. It had been such a hectic time.

To her it felt like she had not one moment to herself. Everyone wanted a piece of her. She was spent. Empty. Exhausted. Living for the others, not for herself.

It would be so easy, to lay like this, to slip down, to allow this peace to fully encompass her…

She lowered herself, just a little more, to see what it felt like, allowing the water from the bath tub to cover her eyes, her mouth, her nose.

After a moment, she sat bolt upright, catching her breath! What was she doing?

She tuned her ears again, she could hear the babble that was normal on the other side of the door, the children arguing, the baby crying, and her husband trying to be peacekeeper, but failing miserably.

Oh well, she guessed 5 minutes peace was more than she had had for a long time, and beggars can’t be choosers. She grabbed her towel, quickly dried herself, and wrapping her bathrobe around her, she opened the door.

My dear Blogger friend Matt, The Book Blogger, creator of the Flash Fiction Foray that I take part in weekly is having a blog party fot Christmas! Come on over, drop a link or two, and some words about your blog, and visit some others too!

As we all settle down for Christmas, I feel the time coming on us for another blog party! For those unfamiliar with such things, any and all blogs are welcome to take part, in fact, I would love to see some new blogs.

Come right in, admiring the wreath on the door before you dodge around the mistletoe on your left (or go under it-if you dare!), lend your ears to the carol singers for a minute or two before Wham comes over the radio. Gasp as you see the Christmas tree resplendent in its tinsel, baubles and lights, and prepare to be amazed by the life-size snowglobe!

Let me tell you a story...

Coming to US, the most exciting thing that has happened to me is the meetup groups 🙂 I joined few groups (ofcourse all pertaining to writing and book clubs) and then i thought of starting one by myself and i did.

So the name of my group is CREATIVE CIRCLE – Book Clubs and Games, and till now almost 56 people have joined it. It’s so much fun meeting all of them and talking to them. My first meet up was at Starbucks and the agenda was to to introduce each other. That went well and second one was at a vintage cafe where i hosted a book exchange. everyone had to bring one book that they had finished reading and something in it inspired them and they had to pass that book to someone else int he group and in return they got a book from someone in the…
